Good luck waging war with the galaxy map near the core though. It's currently hair-pullingly frustrating for me right now.

Thank you and good luck xD
I estimate around 1900 systems scanned, again with the advanced scanner only, no surface scanner. Took 2 or 3 smaller detours to see nebulae near my route but that was about it. Bee-lined it home.
Ranked up from I believe mostly aimless to Pathfinder and made approximately 15 million credits.
Good luck! :)
Many. I was out for probably 20+ hours at least. That was at least 4-5 game days for me, grinding away.
Also I don't have any math behind it, but it felt like jumping multiple times before filling with the fuel scoop was much faster. Obviously this carries the risk of hitting multiple unscoopable browns which the game gladly threw my way after I insulted it's impossible routing near the core
You say that, but 1.5 for full discovery scanner, 5.1m for the top of the range FSD, then you'll want a fast fuel scoop, thats 900,000, if you're going to maximise your jump range, you'll also want the lightest modules....
Save a little longer....
I recently went to the Pleiades nebula, only 300ly, with a full discovery scanner and not doing the unexplored planets I made a little over 250,000.
I also found a station in the middle of the nebula, very interesting little trip...

I believe I took a screenshot from within that nebula, as I'm traveling to it. I thought it was neat that they had expanded into it.
Sadly I had the intention of buying a repair kit and did not.
Also mentioning the fuel scoop, here's a pro tip for you: don't skimp on the scoop. Less time filling = more exploring faster = more sanity.

Here's the one, doubt it's the same station but that was the view going to it.
I made an edit too, to include some screentshots I took, the name of the station was 'Obsidian' in the Maia system.
Ah that was the one then. A recent addition to the game as I see it. Very cool. I was pretty surprised when I was still seeing ships in SC on my way out of human space.
