Frontier listen..
How about instead of selling ships for $$, you make a DLC with ship interiors including ship boarding combat.

Here are my current reasons to play Star Citizen instead of Elite:
1. Ship Interiors
2. Ship interiors
3. Ship interiors
4. Ship interiors
5. Ship interiors
6. Ship interiors
7. Ship interiors
8. Ship interiors
9. Ship interiors
10. Ship interiors

Frontier, why don't you scrap your bad ideas and make $$$ with a massive ship interior DLC AND REGAIN THE PLAYER BASE YOU DROVE TO STAR CITIZEN!!!!

Super simple fix, you can do it!!

This is a civil post, I'm not yelling just emphasizing the immersive gameplay ship interiors adds to the experience. If anything, just do common areas like X4 does and skip the in-depth level SC puts in their models.

Elite Dangerous was released almost 10 years ago as a PEGI 7 title, because it qualified for that age rating. What exactly is your argument?
That Frontier fracked it up 10 years ago by applying for a PEGI 7 rating despite planning to make a PEGI 16 expansion.

The most funny part of that is that Elite fans are litteraly Boomers and early Gen X, even most of their kids were above the age of 7 in 2012.
There was literally no good reason to apply for a kid rating, maybe it was a copy & paste mistake from Planet Zoo while doing the paperwork, lol.

It was released on Xbox and Playstation back then too. I suspect parental controls play a much bigger part in console gaming than they do on PC.

My kids were playing Oblivion at the age of 7 and 9, so I'm not arguing for or against age ratings, just delving into the reasons behind what might look like strange or incorrect choices by the company.
Jeebs 2024 年 8 月 12 日 上午 10:09
Do they even get a choice in what the rating is? As far as I know it's assigned to you and you can't argue to get a higher rating in case you might add some stuff later on. If you want a lower rating, you can cut stuff out to hopefully make it under the bar, but I've never heard of a company asking for a higher rating.

I imagine the publisher fills out a questionnaire, and given it's a bureaucratic thing the PEGI people probably equate 'blowing up spaceships' with Space Invaders. They probably have questions about consuming alcohol, interaction with humans, adult content, nudity, filtering of swearing in chat, hunting, etc, etc.

A pure space game would get a pretty low rating, but NPCs getting shot in the face and screaming swearwords and adverts for alcohol and guns (as per Odyssey) is not going to sneak through as a kids' game.

I doubt that they deliberately wanted to have a higher rating and to cut off a lot of potential 7-16 years old players for 10 years.

Right, more or less what I figured but my point mostly was that Frontier doesn't really get a say in what the game is rated. It gets given to them based on what the game contains at the time of evaluation. Whether or not the rating it gets is accurate doesn't matter, in this case. I'm just saying that the ratings system is the ratings system and has very little to do with the company itself.

Honestly ship interiors at this point - aside from "too little, too late", would simply be a distraction at most.

I agree about the distraction but not the too little too late.

They just fixed the material grind that people would subject themselves to, and look at all the returning player threads.

If you asked me whether ED will still be going in 10 years with content we can't even imagine now, I would be 95% certain of it - with the 5% being 'no' because some larger company buys Frontier, throws Elite to the wolves because it makes their beancounters heads spin. and turns all their other games into loot box extravaganzas with a million microtransactions.
felyonlephi 2024 年 8 月 13 日 上午 7:58
I only want ED to become more single player friendly.
With the Thargoid crap it became nearly impossible to start a new game and survive long enough to earn a good amount of credits.
It can be fun to play on your own, but it takes far too long to progress.
indigo 2024 年 8 月 13 日 上午 8:34
Or just play Star Citizen, since it already gives you what you want.

The thargoids occupy 400 systems on the fringe of the bubble, many of them unoccupied. There are over 20,000 occupied systems in the bubble for you to play in with no thargoids.

Unless you're deliberately kicking the hornet's nest, how are the thargoids attacking you?

Also, thousands of players enjoy the thargoid combat, myself included, and many of them take on thargoids in Solo - myself included.

Ship interiors would change nothing. Absolutely nothing. That's just a new place where you don't know what to do. Don't you think there are other, more important problems?

Plus we already have full fleet carrier interiors for people who want to do that kind of gameplay. You can even sit on seats and stand up again, which is about the only thing ship interiors would add to the game anyway.

Have to agree here. I've restarted my alt account twice since the Thargoid war started. Never once saw a thargoid and I flew right through the area they occupied multiple times to get to Maia.
