Elite Dangerous

What changes were made to engineering that "fixed" it?
Engineering is why I stopped playing, is it no longer a massive ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ grind?

The payout is so high that some people say it is too high. -that is how much it was upped. :D
-missions also pay engineering materials and the costs for ships and on foot are lowered.

Fairly sure Burr pit has a video on the numbers. (IIRC the payouts are at least 3x higher)
No such thing as to high, engineering was a joke and not fun in any way shape or form!

Time to reinstall :D
Oh its Amazing :D
It's removed so much of the grind that some people seem reluctant to admit it still because it feels like a fever dream.

agree was farming HGEs earlier today, was nice not to have to do the quit-to-desktop loop several times without needing almost a hundred limpets in the hold - was able to get quite a few level 4/5 bins full from empty rather quickly, and just a quick mat trader visit for stuff that I was lacking. So much better!

They better admit it fast, before it is readjusted again. It is quite normal for such adjustments to go from one extreme to another one before settling down at some more normal numbers.
I hope they don't revert it or "nerf" it because a bunch of neckbeards get tilted because they wastes hours of their life grinding it.

It is a game it is supposed to be fun. Its a space sim or whatever it should not have World of Warcraft levels of grind.
If they make it a massive grind again I'm dipping out.
Sorry to sidetrack you, but which of the following is now the smarter way to collect RAW material?

A.Farming and exchanging (e.g. Selenium) as before.
B.Searching around for missions that contain RAW rewards
C. Other methods.

I have no idea I have not touched this game in years

And that's why it shouldn't dump tons of stuff at you every time you press a single button. Making some efforts in getting rewards is much more fun than being drown in rewards every time you move.

I am exaggerating here, of course. But if rewards are also exaggerated so much, then they should be scaled down. I don't know if they really are - I haven't been in a HGE yet. I did some missions, and 12 mats as a 15-min mission reward look adequate to me.
The mission rewards are fine and needed buffed a bit. Mining wasn't touched. Surface or asteroids. Scanning wasn't touched. Essentially most of it boils down to loot pinatas in HGEs. Even drops from ships in res sites were not touched. So if you aren't near the bubble, don't play missions and/or don't do HGE's, the only change was the engineering upgrades are slightly cheaper and there is no randomness to them.

I mean with what they have now they should have just made a button that says refill X at the station in the systems. If you play the game as do other activities other than just go to HGEs, there isn't much change at all. It isn't a fix. For the most part, it is a quick unbalanced hack. A true fix would remove the need for tons of materials in HGEs and balance the rewards out across all types of gameplay so that engineering is less difficult for everyone regardless of their style of play. But that isn't what they did at all. You still get 3 random pieces of data from scanning wakes, you still get 3 minerals from surface mining, you still get the same rewards for megaships, and so on and so on. The game is much more than just HGEs. Now there is no reason for the signal sources. Elite never forces you to play a certain way, but these changes only encourage doing just that.

Crashed Anaconda sites have 15-20 broken cargo racks you can shoot for large amounts of raw materials which are mostly the highest grade (across 3 categories)

Orrere planet 2B
Koli Discii C6a
HD 76133 1C (3000 ly out)
Hip 16613 1A

Missions now offer raws as rewards too.
Oh, Sir Sighman responded!
And even the location! Very helpful.
I will go there as soon as possible.

Doing the same crap over and over to upgrade your ship to have fun is not effort its boring and a waste of time.
