most of the folks here are quite helpful. Of course like any forum and public space, we have our trolls too.

You can search out squadrons on Inara.cz( a vital website to playing ED )
I think you can search them out in game too.

There is A LOT to do in the game, not sure how PC version quite differs from console( dont know when they stopped updating ) Just take it one thing at a time and ask questions here when needed.

Consoles don't have anything beyond Horizons Legacy.

Everything in Live and Odyssey is PC-only.

So there's a ton of new content.
Don't be afraid to ask questions here peoples are really helpful.
ya i know theres trolls and stuff but ya im learning that theres tons of stuff to do that is all new to me. but thanks guys if ya see me out there give a shout..
but is there something i should know small little tips and tricks for credits and good equipment. any thing i should work on right away to prep for later.
Welcome to the expanse Commander!

Always have a fuel scoop on deck. Multicannons are a great option.
And look for the Mobius PvE group if you want to stay clear of PvP. I do hope you have fun out there!

It's good to gather credits, that's what pay for ships, but I learnt later on that taking materials as payment on missions makes a lot of sense, you will not have t concentrate on those when comes the time to engineer your ship

I sent you a friend invite on steam. we have a group of old xb players that now all fly together on PC. your welcome to come fly with us, and we can help show you the ropes

I played off and on for years, and i never used fuel tank modules, just fuel scoops. And here recently I discovered that if I'm not jumping too far, its fun using a class 4 or 5 fuel tank module. Now I almost feel like I don't need a scoop in the bubble.
ok, tips,,, your ships can be rebought if you die, its like 20% of the cost of the ship and modules " dont fly without rebuy "

Youre gonna start out doing courier missions to get cash, cash = bigger and better ships.

Once you get a decent sized ship( medium) you can then start to truck around materials, go mining, really, the sky is the limit.
As you are new to PC: I thought people had mentioned a free transfer of your pilot from xbox to Pc, but I'm not 100% on that. If you hit 450k or so credits, try exobiology. You need 150k for an artemis suit (has a bioscanner to actually collect samples) and 250k for the detailed planet scanner (optional internal slot; to let you know what is on the planet and sort of give you an idea of where the plants you want to scan can be). check youtube for videos for using the scanner and exobiology. Use https://www.spansh.co.uk/exobiology to find some spots near you and https://ed-dsn.net/en/dsn-2/ to see what the plants look like (the planets are like 99% barren, so its more seeing if it is flat to the ground or an upright plant) and an idea of what things are worth if you scan plants not listed in the expressway list. plant scans seem to be 1-19 million credits each (depending on the plant) in the 'bubble' so a few plants will give you enough to do a decent small to medium ship. The detailed planet scans also count as exploration stuff to sell.

Yes you can transfer your full account from xbox to pc. everything except arx balance. All your ships, modules, credits, cosmetics, progress, engineering ect

Feel free to add me if you want someone to tag along on Bounty Missions or to head into Conflict Zones with.

I've got my fully engineered Fed Corvette and will happily blast anything that needs blasting - be it NPCs or other players.

I don't travel outside the bubble though.

If you have a few bucks, get a H.O.T.A.S. this game plays a lot better with one... If you want the ultimate game play get a VR headset it's friggin mind blowing
