Does anyone know anything about new supercruise module?
It seems that you can't grade it?

At least people won't be complaining about the engineering grind, right?

Right - they will be complaining about being unable to engineer it.

Something is thinking, 'challenge accepted,' I just know it.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Will see if it can be engineered further, but I do not believe so...Will check on the experimental...

Be warned...It is a fuel hog...My Phantom normally consumes 2.12/h in Supercruise...Supercharge boosts it well over 1200/h...Hutton Orbital may not be a breeze, but the times you can accelerate will make it a lot more fun...

Cannot put an experimental on this module...Two useful things I have found...This will get you off a planet super fast...This will get you to time sensitive HGE points lickety split...

Someone already tested that in a python with only fuel tanks: went from 0.21 to 0.18 IIRC.

So it is fine for short bursts but won't run for long.

As long as we get to engineer them, they will fill a sensible slot just like biweaves.
(not that they don't already but a little icing on the cake would be nice x)

Yeah...It is a heat demon and a fuel hog...Great for cutting distance on points 1000000ls or less, but the Hutton Run would just be some fun speed ups till your fuel got critically low...Can you drop heat sinks in Supercruise?...I have never tried, so I do not know...

That's a lot of fuel... Probably enough to carry an explorer Python about 2000LY using fastest routes?

You can

I look forward to seeing people figure out the use case for this drive. After playing with it briefly, it seems to be usable only in short bursts without eating tons of heat sinks and fuel.

the larger the ship the slower the boost, the size 2c can whip at 142% of normal supercruise. 3 seconds and you are out of a system.

Interesting. I was thinking about sticking it on my Adder, which these days I use just to fly around systems farming signal sources and responding to distress signals. Might be useful for that, but I'm not sure if I'd want to use it on anything else from what I've heard so far.

Probably best put on the ship you use to land on planets, since escaping a planet's gravity well is pretty annoying.

It seems likely the Python mk. 2 and/or the other new ships will be able to utilize this drive better. It's also the first iteration anyway, I imagine other companies are going to want to compete with this design as it gets improved.
