Struggling to make money
Been away from the game for a long while and upon my return I am having real issues making any kind of paper.
I have an Imperial Cutter so I have used refitting to try out different options. Mining, trade runs, bounty hunting in conflict zones. Only thing I have not tried is exploration. Cutter is not the best option for this.
I do not want to do tourist runs in Robico. Even if that is still a thing.

Any suggestions guys?

I am new to the game, started out doing courier jobs, whatever they paid, they paid. Would turn in exploration data as well. Earned enough to get an Adder, started mining, but also started making a touch more $$$. Now I have graduated into the Cobra MK 3 for mining. Soon as I put a prospector controller, my mining yields doubled.

I will very low on $$$, (about 1 million left after the Cobra and mods purchase) but within two days, I am over 5 million. Yes, I know some folks make that much in one haul, but this is what I have done :)

Buy a DBX, A-rate everything, then give exobiology a shot.

Thank you. I shall give this a go. At the very least it is something I have not tried before.

Indeed yes. This is what StewiePlaysPC suggested. Think I will manage it in my Cutter though. I have a Guardian FSD booster somewhere.

You may wish to follow the advice StewiePlaysPC gave to me if you want to make cash faster. Just make sure you have a ship with sufficient jump range.

make sure youre out of the bubble, find " fresh" planets. #1 complaint is people not finding planets without a footfall. biology pays alright, getting the bonuses pays amazing.

fly to ceos and make sure you honk all the way one way trip can make upto 2 million creds

Get some AX weapons, caustic sinks, join a group, head over a Thargoid spire, help kill orthruses (or orthri?). Best money-making gig right now, IMHO.

Bulk hauling for the Pilots Trade Network is easy money. Join the discord, navigate to Trade Mission Alerts, find an alert and start hauling (be sure to look at time and maybe check INARA to make sure the FC hasn't filled up yet). Cash can be really good, especially if you have a Cutter or T9. Hauling jobs typically pay 11K or 12K per ton and sometimes you can find jobs paying 20K+/ton.

I can teach you laser platinum mining,
it is probably the most consistent money other that exobiology.

Find someone with a Fleet Carrier who wants a load of tritium. There's some in the systems around Sol where you'll be able to make around 30k profit per unit.

Or, if you can wait a few weeks untill my carrier gets back to the bubble:

I'll be parking next to a station with more than I need in stock, and I'll be paying double whatever they're selling it for... Which usually means about minus 1.2 to 1.5 billion credits for me... And about 50k profit per unit for anyone who wants it.

You will be there too some day...You will make 40 times that in one haul... ;)

This has proven to be an excellent source of income and I recommend it to anyone starting out.
Sadly it is not repeatable. You get a message saying "sample already sold" when you try.
Few things I learned. Dont try and use a fat Cutter to land on these planets, it's a pain in the love spuds.
Always make sure you land on the side of the planet facing the sun.
Do not fart in your spacesuit.
