First click on what you want, then you can select the other items you're trading for credits... on the right side it will show +1 and so on as you trade more items in for credit toward the item you want. When you're good, confirm trade at bottom.

You probably didn't offer enough goods to reach even +1, as Oddball suggested.

Sometimes on the Carriers your purchase does not register till you undock or you log off to menu and back in...If you confirmed the purchase, you will get it by doing either one...

That would be regular marketplace though, not the on-foot bartender.

Figure it would apply to both...Me no help on this one... ;)

If you lost the items you offered for trade but did not receive anything in return, submit a ticket to FDev.

However you must trade enough items to see the +1 click over. The trade rate is different depending on what you're trading. TC is a pretty low trade rate for many things.

Every object that the bar tender trades with you has a value, for example it could be 7. Every object that you own also has a value for him, a given object could be worth 4 and another object could be worth 3. So in this case you have two objects that you can give to him in exchange for one of his, the one that is worth seven, because 4+3=7.

Let's pretend that your two objects are worth 4 and 5 instead. We have 4+5=9, but you will always receive only one object, if you chose the one worth 7, and the other 2 points (or credits) will be lost.

Let's pretend you have three items worth 4 and one item worth 2, the result 4+4+4+2=14, and you can claim two of its items worth 7, because 7+7=14, and you don't lose any points (or credit).

Also....when you get to the point hat both the carrier and ship are full of foot-materials, you can trade for the harder mats to save storage space. Some mats spawn super easy and you always find. So good to trade-in to more valuable items, just to free up space....
