So Im in Colonia done a lot of exploration and have made most of my $$$ from that and exobiological discovery
So exo biological stuff paid well but its taken a while to get to 2.5 billion I need to step up on the $$$ as I want to get a FC at 3billion plus running costs I'm not making enough quick enough any suggestions in colonia of how to make a killing without to much risk?

Keep doing exobiology. You can literally make millions or more in a day or 2 depending how lucky you are with signals. Pick a random star a few hundred light years away, select economical route setting and explore every system. If you get biological signals, scan them too. You can sell your exploration data with Universal Cartographics and your bio data to Vista Genomics (most of your money will come from here).

Carriers cost 5 billion. Depending on what services you want then the up front costs will be higher, but they're optional.

Might want to look at this: https://cmdrs-toolbox.com/fleet-carrier-calculator. It seems to do a pretty good job of setting realistic expectations.

Exobiology is one of the fastest ways to make money in the game, second only to Orthrus farming.

Granted, Orthrus farming is vastly faster. As in, billions per day faster. But that comes with a great many caveats.
It is, firstly, a group activity. Finding a group isn't hard, but there's a lot of ways a bad group can screw it up.
Secondly, it is sitting firmly in the "exploit" grey area with crashed anacondas and HGE relogging.
Thirdly, pulling your weight requires a lot of investment; not just in credits, though the ships are expensive, but in time spent farming guardian sites and materials spent on engineering.
Now, that's not to say a little mooching isn't tolerated, but too few people with proper builds and you can't make the Orthruses die.
Fourthly, while it is the laziest and least interesting form of AX combat, it still AX combat. That means you must learn enough to at least run the gauntlets of interdiction and hyperdictions to get to the site.

My advice would be to stick to exobiology. Fast credits make the game worse, not better.

i say keep with Exo too. if it only has 1 bio, chances are its a cheapo bacterium unless is nitrogen, then you get a better variation.
You can make 500-1B a week, quite easily. just depends on your scans and what you find.

High metal content worlds with either methane or sulphur dioxide in the atmosphere and a single bio signal; have a good chance of spawning stratum tectonicas. Argon and Neon can be good for some higher value frutexa/tussock samples etc as well ;)

Thanks yes its lucrative is there a 3rd party app that helps you find good planets at the mo its a bit hit and miss you get a good system sometimes with 7 bio signals but most are 2 or 3 I usually don't bother with 1 signal prob a mistake .. some bio can give you 20mil payout its finding the valuable ones? I'm often 1st to step on planets out here in Colonia so that pays dividends also .. any 3rd party helps would be good to know in Colonia are? Cheers Cmdrs

The problem with those is, they're only known because someone has already been there and scanned everything...

You want to get out in to the regions that don't see much traffic instead and get the bonus for being the first to discover things. The exploration bonus is peanuts. Won't even come close to covering upkeep costs for the week... The exobiology bonus is a very different matter though. A single good bio signal, with first discovery bonus? That can pay for weeks of upkeep...

I am only about 3k out from colonia heading my way to the centre and just in a straight line of travel there is nothing been this way.

Mind you i am in a stock Type 6 so all i can do is no more than 25Ly but that is what i wanted just like the old days no engineering.

but as for discoveries to be found as first found there is a killing to be made.

I'm Jumping 50 Ly what I've found is some areas a just plain barren not much to find I notice around or heading towards nebula you get a lot more exo Bio it seems.

At the moment I'm taken particular note of the worlds atmosheres there make up temps etc this will indicate if there is bio life bigger payouts. For e.g
High metal content worlds with either methane or sulphur dioxide in the atmosphere and a single bio signal; have a good chance of spawning stratum tectonicas. Argon and Neon can be good for some higher value frutexa/tussock samples etc as well ;)

Since your out that far if you use a tool like road to riches since it will lead you to unexplored planets at are worth scanning which you need to do anyway.
craigorious Mar 13, 2024 @ 9:10pm
I don't think road to riches work this far out? If it does that maybe a good option. My previous comment and following the suggestion yielded indeed a 17 mil find which proves don't miss even a single signal. Cmdr CC
craigorious Mar 13, 2024 @ 9:12pm
Question? If I find a hi yield plant and if I drop out of the game re visit the planet do I get another 17 mil reward the 2nd time? Cmdr CC
craigorious Mar 14, 2024 @ 1:32am
Nope that does not work my previous question tried it no go. Dam just thought I could cheat the system. CC
