Elite D Updates
Why are the updates always so massive. What exactly am I supposed to log on a see different that say 'Ah, that's the new update'? Not like its ship interior or partial ship interior, is it? Or something significant that take take so long to update.
Just nuts!

Not always, only when they bring some significant changes. Something like new ships, new planetary generation stuff (to improve the performance)...

The 18.1 Update, for example, was only like 200MB.
you on dial up? updates, even large ones only take a few minutes to download and install.

This update seems to have replaced a lot of game files. My guess is textures, perhaps resampled a bit smaller to help with frame rates?

Performance has definitely improved.

Actually no. I have quite a fast connection that apparently can handle quite a lot at once.
Done a speed check just a few days ago

Net speed vs disk speed maybe?

My connection is faster than most of my drives can handle, even the SSDs... Only downloads to the nvme drives can hit the connection speed cap. Downloads to the only HDD I've got? They cap out at about 5% of the connection speed.

Massive update to the game and on the other end you have people complaining about update.

Can't win with some people. XD

The GFX package had an update and that is a good thing.

You can find the details in the "Events" subforum here under update 18.

cheers
