So is the Abrasion Blaster just borked?
Before you get out your pitchforks..

-Have relogged
-Have completely restarted the game
-Have switched weapon spots
-Have changed pips at every level
-Am holding the button down long enough (i see the projectile hit for gods sake)
-Have tried from point blank to distance range
-Have tried at different angles
-Have tried aiming slightly off from center
-Have made a complete circle around the target both wide and small

Nothing works! I'm literally leaving 7+ deposits behind because the Abrasion Blaster won't remove the chunks!

And yes, they are tagged as SURFACE DEPOSIT.

Anyone know a fix for this?

waiting for an announcement from FDEV

^ Good to know.

I am able to get the outer surface deposits.

After some testing, I've found out it's only the "inside" surface deposits I can't hit. They just don't want me to have the gooey centers of these asteroids..

Works perfectly fine for me.

yes exactly, absolute the same. the deposits after cracking up are broken.

Not sure if you can hear how hard I'm pressing X to doubt..

It happens with me as well, the abbrasion blaster simply doesn't remove the surface deposits, this only happens in some Core asteroids, so far it has been like 1/3 of all core asteroids that i find the abbrasion blaster will not remove the surface deposits once i crack the rock.

Worked fine for me. Are the deposits you are shooting at blue or grey?

They are blue, yes i'm hitting them perfectly fine, they simply don't detach from the rocks. Again this is only seems to be happening with Core asteroids (after you blown them up of course)

Interesting, do you get any orange sidewinder errors? I'll do some more core mining tonight to see if I can replicate the issue.

didn't notice anything like that, just nothing happens. Again from my experience since yesterday, this is happening in about 1/3 of all core asteroids i ran across. I shoot the surface deposits once i crack them open and literally nothing happens.

One way to help is keep doing mining in game. That will give Fdev data to bug hunt.

I found two cores yesterday. The first one, I had the exact problem you described. The second one, it worked perfectly. That was one single session, no relogging or resetting the instance. *shrug*

Well I just went to 3 different systems, 3 different types. I've cracked 7 cores now, and can't get the surface deposits inside ANY of them.

The outside of the core is fine. The surface deposits there pop right off...

I dunno. Hopefully they fix this soon. So frustrating leaving all those deposits just sitting there.

Interesting, i just did one run hunting for core void opals and in a void opals hotspot and found 5 core asteroids all of them worked fine. Even got an LTD core without any issues with the abbrasion blaster.

I have this problem too. Last night first rock was LTD core, but could not shoot off the surface deposits after cracking it. I saw that it had already been reported to FDev so I just quit for the evening. Hope it gets fixed soon. The real problem with the nerf is that Tritium is so much harder to find now. I was primarily minig Tritium at a double LTD/Tritium spot. Last week was getting 60 or so LTDs and 250 Tritium at a time doing all kinds of mining. Last night after the patch I just gave up. There were so few Tritium SSDs and no rock had more than 10%.
