The best thing you can do, is waste an hour or two going through all the options and then setting up the basics (ship rotation, thrust/direction/throttle, and menu navigation) in a way that makes sense to you. Then play it for a bit... Realise what bits of the setup you don't like, reconfigure them... It's almost a game in itself just getting everything respond how you want it too lol. Almost...
