because sideys stock internals are not worth that much and there are far better ways to earn cash with the sidey than this form of grindtorture.
...but if you get to that point, then other than exploring a billion featureless computer generated planets that all look alike, you'll find there's nothing left to do that you havent already done alot of.
Not ground yet and I have 2 maxed (for different jobs) Asp Exps and a maxed FAS.
Grinding is in the mind of the gamer.
If there is a new exploit that does simiar, then presume FD will close it as soon as they can.
If you ARE, The sidewinder start and missions are pretty dire, but you would be much better served trying to nab some bounties (Even killsteal from sone NPCs if you are lucky).
Once you switch over to an Eagle it's even easier, and the bad NPC AI will let you treat wanted Asps like easy to kill pinatas in particular. More so once you start targeting powerplants. Once you get into that Viper MK III or Cobra MK III the game opens up quite a bit for the average person.
People will debate "There is grind!" and "Nuh uh there isn't!" forever. But nothing will change the fact that you really DO need some credits under your belt to accomplish the vast majority of content.
Can't go mining without buying mining equipment. Can't collect materials on planets without buying an SRV bay. Can't even "LOL just explore" without buying a fuel scoop. All this and more, is paid for with credits. "Cheap cost for a sidewinder" is still a cost, after all.
I'm sure if you were really dedicated you could live your life in a stock sidewinder and only travel as far out as you can go from your spawn location on one tank of gas. Killing yourself whenever you run out of gas, spawning in your starting location, and living your life on that one tank's worth over and over.
My. what a fun wonderful time that person proving me so wrong about "You don't NEED credits!" would have. As they kamikaze into a control tower to respawn with gas once more.
The control tower operator, briefly before the end in a twisted explosion of fire and shrapnel hears a phrase over the coms as he dies. "It's fun for ME!" *Boom*
If you want to have a discussion about the definition of grinding, do it on dictionary.com or something, or at least start your own thread. Let's not derail threads more than usual.
And a word of warning to BigShot - calling people fanboys in an attempt to invalidate someone's opinion does not go down well around here. Please do not do it again.
Sorry, that one had to go as well, since it was obvious who a particular comment was aimed at.
If you cannot keep to topic, be prepared to take a holiday from the forums.
Hey sleepy head! You woke up too late for the FAS thread... that got very off topic but was at least amusing!
PS feel free to delete after reading {like a pro secret spy ;}
Agony Aunt. Yes this is what i was referring to. It is not something i was contemplating doing because i love tooling around in my ship too much but it just seemed such a simple exploit that should been closed and am glad to hear that is has.
I havent had the game very long and am still finding my feet (to the point that i ditched my first save after only 5 hours because i realised i had ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up). I am still in the loaner but reckon another 5 hours of play will get me into my first purchase (either an Eagle or a Hauler).
I can just about remember elite and elite II (which gives you an idea as to how old i am) and have been waiting for someone to revisit the IP since the late 90's. So far i am loving it but it does have room for tweaks.
