Where exactly have you been? To start with, if you are looking for shipyards and outfitting with lots of stuff you have to know what systems to look for. What you want is Hi-Tech economy and big population. There are tools in the map with all required filters. You can try it for yourself. Once you know how and where to look, finding anything is easy.
I'd recommend looking in Beta-1 Tucanae system. It's a bit of a trip to the station(maybe 3 minutes of flying? not that much), but I remember it having good variety of ships and modules.

lol three of those ships (Imperial clipper, Courier, Cutter) he's going to need the faction rank for...just saying.

Just going out on a limb and going to take it at face value that the person asking just started playing the game and doesn't know this. Imperial Eagle can be bought by anyone as far as I know (correct me if I'm wrong). After the Courier, their going to need a large bank account to get them, outfit them correctly (class A Equipment), and keep the bank required to pay for the re-buy in case the hunter becomes the hunted.

The Clipper isn't too bad with this, but you can only land at Starports and ground bases with it...too bloody large for stations/platforms.

My advise...
Save your cash for a DBX (Diamondback Explorer) or an ASP Explorer. Both are multi-purpose and pretty affordable for the roles they can handle. Both have decent jump ranges...DBX can jump 29Ly with the right FS Drive...so it's worth a look at anyway.
Keep one of those until you can afford a Python and get it upgraded and keep bank for the re-buy.

The Python is one of the large ships in the game and has very good firepower. Also, it can land at ANY station and surface base unlike the tier 7 Imperial Clipper...and you can imagine trying to land a Cutter at a space platform LMAO ROF good luck with that one.

Come to think of it...I don't think any of the Platforms can handle ships size tier 7 and up

Warchild, OP asked for advice. It doesn't mean we have to hold his hand about the question ;) What happened to people discovering stuff for themselves, making mistakes, learning and having pleasure doing so. I specifically didn't give too much info in my first post, only directions on how to find relevant systems.

See? As I said...I was going out on a limb hahahah.
And I didn't give a man a fish...I gave him a fishing pole, a net, and a box of TNT.
Useful but dangerous :steammocking:

@Steve...

You have to admit, that is usually the type of questiona "newer" player would ask.

This might help you as well...

http://roguey.co.uk/elite-dangerous/ships/

It lists all known ships and where to get them along with how much it will cost to upograde as well.

@Caramel_Clown...

Now THAT was hand holding.
LMAO ROF

Yes ...it works...it works very well I might add. You have to input where YOU are and how many LY AWAY you're willing to travel.
Very nice data base.
Now if you're at the butt end of the galaxy out of reach of everything...well...that's another story all together.

no it did mess up i know how to use the table but it didn't matter since i found a station in the next system that sold everything

i instantly sold the iEagle never bought an eagle before and to be honest i have no idea why the are in the game they take two hits and explode

Obvious answer to simple question: High Tech Imperial controlled systems, or with a 15% discount in High Tech systems in Li Yong-Rui space...

They're small, fast, agile, plus they've got a decent jump range for a fighter (slightly better than the Vulture, noticeably better than the FDL).

Flown well they can avoid being shot. Perfect light fighters, good for bounty hunting when you're a relatively new player. Also very good for experienced pilots if you've got a full wing. A wing of eagles can swarm around bigger ships picking away at them while not giving them a clean shot. Weak against turrets though, so pack chaff.

And they're very cheap, even fully fitted they're only about 6 or 7 million credits. Perfect for if a few of you want to get together and just mess about, shoot each other, hunt big NPCs and so on without taking much of a risk to your credit balance...

My last Imperial Eagle: http://coriolis.io/outfit/imperial_eagle/23A3D3A1D2A2D2C1g232300406b2j2f.Iw1-EA==.Aw1-EA==

Used that in hazres taking down other small ships (up to the Asp) solo, and Pythons and Anacondas in a wing.

Would I go back to one now? For messing about yeah, for serious combat I'll stick to my 32 mil Vulture for now ;)

Eagle and iEagle may be very cheap ships, but you will most likely never see new players flying them. It's always a veteran looking for some adrenalin on a budget :D
