Trading for ones who whish to use in-game tools.
To put it simple: how do I use ingame map to find trade routes? I know you can show routes there, but it looks like they are not pointing to systems selling the commodity. I'm using external tools like eddb, but want to play the fun way.

So, any tips?

Well you need to play the game properly OP, this game doesn't hold your hand, you're going to need to learn how to works and use a lot of imagination because it's a sandbox game.
Firstly, the Galaxy Map shows trade routes, those pretty arrows and lines that are differently coloured, you can follow those to show you where something originates. You might have to follow them for a while though but it's alright it makes it fun. You won't be able to actually see what stations are selling what or for how much but this is a space simulator, not an MMO auction house! Just use your imagination mate.

No, no, no. I know about this stuff. I can literally bury you in links to such web apps. But I want to learn how to do it myself. Otherwise it's not very fun and turns into running back and forth.

Almost the answer i wanted. I'll put an algorithm. Please say if I'm wrong, or right.

1. Find system where you wish to sell. (Preferrably one where demand is high and price is tasty.)
2. Enable trade routes on map.
3. Find line for chosen commodity.
4. Follow the line to the next system.
5. Buy trading data for that system.
6. If the line stopped (no lines from neighbouring systems) this system sells commodity, If not, go to step 4.

Am I right?

The best thing I've found in the In-Game Trade Routes on the maps is that it can show you general trends in trading--for example: Hi Tech systems need metals--LOTS of metals--refineries need minerals and EVERYBODY needs food. While this can be useful, nothing short of traveling to the systems and looking at their Markets will teach you what specific good is REALLY desirable. Hint: Take screenshots of the Markets you wanna use--that's the best in-game method I've found.

Yes it's working as intended. :^)

Note the downside...the ingame trading lines are often completely wrong

I don't find trade routes that useful (because to me it often seems incorrect). Better to look at the commodities screeen and check where things are imported/exported there.
