Do you lose exploration data on death?

I recently got back into this game, and I've spend about 4 hours mapping systems, however, I can't sell it at my current location. Nor, do I want to travel away at the moment (Really wanna do some BH now) and I was wondering if I will lose this exploration data on death like you lose BH rewards? I can't recall if this is the case lol.

"Really wanna do some BH now" is not a valid argument against doing 1-2 jumps to sell the data.

Well, I restarted so I have to make 4-5 jumps lol. In any case, yeah I know, it's only a minute or two. I'll go sell the data then before BH'in.

Yes. So my advice is explore and then only come back to a fringe system on the very edge of populated space. Very unlikely to get interdicted. If you do a lot of exploration and try to come back to Eravate or some central system and get destroyed by a player or an NPC its pretty much your own fault.

Explore and find the farthest system away from populated space that has a station or outpost where you can turn in. Simple. I do it all the time and never have any issues. I would never fly through populated space with tons of exploration data.
