Login on frontier website with your account for elite and see if you have your game registered there, you can even download there elite dangerous...
Do this and report back for us to further help you
btw, thanks for the help.
have you looked in your FD account on thier website to check if your keys are there?
And since it was revoked I can no longer see that I bought or activated the game, nor does it show a key there in my Steam account info.
I made a Steam support account now, and then I made a ticket at Frontier's support site. Sadly, I never registered my key there so they don't have it either.
I can't launch the game from vanilla ED anymore, it doesn't show in my library and also says purchase instead of play if I go to it from the store. But, I can play the game by starting the launcher inside the ED folder. So, it seems my account is still active. so Hopefully it IS just Steam having a problem..
It just seems weird that a Steam gift would be revoked for a bad payment two weeks after i bought it. Can a gift even be bad? Isn't a Steam Gift already paid for before it can be traded? It's also odd that this all heppened the same few days that Frontier started to change the way ED and the expansions are sold.
What a pain. I've made tickets on Steam and with Frontier hoping I don't have to go through the crap of trying to get a refund from G2A. I guess i should have known better. But, thanks for the help anyways, guys.
So... yeah it is possible and steam won't do a thing if it was a chargeback. even if you can keep playing, in case of a chargeback expect elite too to revoke your game soon since valve obviously reports that to the devs/publishers.
since it appears that your gift thing was not a official way to get the game you will probably have trouble getting it back or proove your point.
You have to have the key registered on frontiers side or else you wouldn't be playing before or now.
You now can just wait and see steam support reason for that. if it was a mistake or something else.
Good luck
Oh well, it was only $10 off, anyways. I figured that someone just bought it on a Steam sale and kept it as a gift to trade/sell later. I might as well try to get a refund and then pay the full price.
I just hope that i will be able to keep my progress. I have been grinding it out over these 2 weeks and it would break my heart to lose my Python and have to start over again.
