Fastest way to get to Baron(empire rank) ?

Theres no fastest ways. But if you're looking for ranks, you should concider missions. Not all the missions will do. You will have to look for missions with empire emblem. Completing those missions will give you some points to your empire reputation&rank. After some time your ranking bar will grow to 100% and you will be able to get promotion mission (the have "promotion" in title). Those missions don't give you any money, but they switch your rank to a higher one.

I suggest not to focus on ranking and ranking only. Go up the career ladder while doing other stuff. It will be more fun this way. Just remember to pick empire missions.

Have to agree.....I focused on missions exsclusively for the empire, even went so far as to allign with the emperoress duval even though shes 4th in the power rating and I have no interest in her power ther than completing missions in her controlled space or headquarters gains me 100% more rep and influence.....it still takes a long while.....Doing this allowed me to go from master to squire in about 15 missions completed.......

Oh yeah. I guess there is a faster way. Donation missions are so quick to complete. But you still need all those money to donate.

Yeah, spent 5-9 mil to reach the Baron rank.

I'll try this with federation then when I decide to buy all those fed ships.

It works for the federation as well, you just need to go to a federal system with a station that has a lot of donation missions.

But what about me? What if I find this promotion tactic too repetitive and choose to work my way up the other way?

If you have Horizons there are a couple place where you can mission stack base assault missions. Cubeo 3, Roskam ENterprises, gives missions to assault Metcalf Keep which is not far away on same planet. Just makes sure you only take those marked with Empire. There's also another HIP 10716 I believe, you'll need and advanced discovery scanner whn going in and there's a abse on the first body orbiting the first planet in the system. It will all likely show up as unexplored though, and is nealt 1700ls away thus the benefit of a advanced discover scanner. This HIP system gives more missions that are empire based than Cubeo does. It will take time, but can be done. These missions are also pretty good income. I'd get a couple mil (or more) credits for every mission stack (generally around 20 missions).

At eeither of these just cycle through open, private, and solo to refresh the boards until you have a good stack then run off and do them.

It is very repetitive. Took me 3 days worth, non stop game mode switching and donation mission accepting and donating.
