Oculus DK2 - Windows 10 CAN'T GET IT WORKING
Please, if anyone has their Dk2 working with ED on win 10, for the love of god give me a heads up how

I built a whole flight stick mount, it was fantastic and working (WIN10, Dk2, Elite Dangerous: not horizons)

and then suddenly - it stopped working, couldn't get it funcitoning again etc.

Any help would be appreciated, or if youd like you could add me on steam

Currently I'm running the following:

Win 10
DK2
Display Driver Version: 1.2.4.0
Positional Tracker Driver Version: 1.0.14.0
Nvidia Driver - 361.75

Right now I did a fresh install of ED, and Oculus

DEVS! Your support would be greatly appreciated, I bought the Dk2 strictly for this game and I'm bummed....so far the only fixes I have seen involve downgrading to win 8 - Which is currently out of the question due to alterior requirements.

thx
Highly recommend you ask your question here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=69

You're more likely to get a response from someone who can help you.
check to see if your card and or pcu is still supported, had same problem with my ATI HD5800...worked perfect a month or two ago then now it no longer works for any game with DK2...they stopped updating certian hardware with driver support because of offical release on new Oculus head set...so certain older cards and CPUs are no longer supported. You might be able to do a roll back on the oculus DK2 runtime but good luck with finding an older version.

had to buy new card myself....still havent got it yet so not sure if the rest of my rig will be compatible...new card should be and technically so should everything else however the direction they are pushin developers is for top of the line hardware to minimize any performance issues so that the customer gets best results...those of us who bought the developers kits are forced to upgrade.

Support for Windows 10 has been included with the Oculus 0.7 and later SDKs/Runtimes, which requires Direct Driver Mode. If you are using Windows 10, please make sure to get the recommended drivers.

It is important to note that the Oculus 0.7 and later Runtimes are the only version that is compatible with Windows 10. You can, however, run content compiled in Oculus SDK 0.6 or higher, if the Oculus 0.7 Runtime is installed. If you wish to continue running content compiled in earlier versions of the SDK (pre-0.6), you should NOT upgrade to Windows 10 at this time.

AS PER: https://forums.oculus.com/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=26029

Reminder: GPUs below Nvidia GTX 600 series or AMD Radeon HD 7000 series are not supported. In addition, laptops typically are not supported well or at all (especially if they include Nvidia Optimus or AMD Switchable Graphics).

- Multi-GPU (like SLI) is not compatible and may result in artifacts on the screen. It can be disabled.
- Nvidia Surround is also not compatible and may result in slow performance and issues. It can be disabled.
- G-Sync monitors may result in issue. You may have to disable or unplug the monitor.

If you do have a supported GPU and are still having problems, read on:

If you are getting the “HMD Powered Off, Check HDMI Connection” error, please make sure you:

1. Have the correct GPU driver installed. Be sure to use the ones linked below.
---> Nvidia: https://developer.nvidia.com/oculus-07- ... er-support
---> AMD: http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-article ... river.aspx
2. Have your HMD plugged in.
3. Reboot while the HMD is plugged in.
4. If you still have the same error, please send Server & Diagnostic Logs.
Instructions for obtaining the logs are here: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=23521

If you’re on Windows 7 or 8, and thinking of upgrading to Windows 10:

1. Uninstall Oculus runtime software
2. Upgrade to Windows 10
3. Install the correct GPU driver from below:
---> Nvidia: https://developer.nvidia.com/oculus-07- ... er-support
---> AMD: http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-article ... river.aspx
4. Install the 0.7 Oculus runtime
5. Reboot with the HMD plugged in

NOTE: Please do NOT set a Debug HMD Type in the Config Util. This disables your actual hardware and uses an emulated setup designed for development testing. Your headset will not function in this configuration.

NOTE: If you upgraded to Windows 10 with the Oculus runtime previously installed in Windows 7/8, you may need to manually go and uninstall the “Oculus Display Driver”, which is not compatible with Windows 10. Go to Start -> Search for Add/Remove Programs -> Select “Oculus Display Driver” from the list -> Select Uninstall. When this uninstall has completed, please make sure your HMD is plugged in (both USB and HDMI cables) and then reboot.
