Yes. Even if it was just for the views at sunset, on a planet with a weird atmosphere...
While you're enjoying the views... You can now scan plants... It's better than it sounds, mainly because it brings exploration credits to a level on par with other methods of earning money in game.
You need to scan 3 samples of each variety you find on a planet.
If you're the first to scan it/hand the data in, you get a 5x bonus.
When you get first foot fall on a planet (so you know nobody else has been there before, or scanned any of the samples), and find your first group of Stratum Tectonicas: There's 100 mil. If you're lucky, you might find a system with 3 or 4 planets that all have the same high paying samples to find (my best so far was 3 planets in a previously undiscovered system with Stratum Tectonicas, all moons around a single gas giant).

Somewhat subjective - But I would have to say - YES!

And enjoying the sunsets while exploring. Otherwise you're stuck with barren rocks.
For $11 Odyssey is an absolute steal.
They gave all Horizons players the Odyssey game client, but disabled the disembark button.
They removed the 'advanced planetary approach suite' from the game so you can't get near landable atmo planets. (All the thargoid Spire sites are on atmo worlds btw. So are all the exobio plants you can scan for billions of credits.)
Plus if you find an Odyssey settlement on an airless planet, there are no people and you can't get docking permission.
Three simple filters, and no future maintenance needed.
For some reason I had it in my head, that the base payout on the high earners was around 10 mil instead of 20...
There was a bug for a while where the payout was more than indicated (10x I think?) They brought it back to the correct amount soon after (5x)
BTW - any changes to mining?
Your older Horizons (now Horizions Legacy) progression has been copied over to a new Horizons Live / Odyssey save in November 2021, if I remember the year right. From that date the progression made with playing Horizons Legacy is kept separately from Horizons Live or Odyssey.
Horizons Live and Odyssey share the same progression save. You will not lose anything by going from one to another one.
There's decent money (and materials) to be made from Spire missions.
When you start Odyssey, you'll go through the tutorial. While the tutorial is active, you won't have access to anything from your Horizons save.
Once you complete the tutorial, you'll have it all back. So don't panic
