I tried VR with Elite for 10 minutes, just to see how it looks in "real 3d" but wont continue using it because i have only a 3060 Geforce.
VR definitely elevates the Elite experience. Besides the above mentioned 2D environment on foot.
Im using a Pico 4.
If you have a decent PC it works perfectly fine. I use a 3080, and 5800x3D. I also use a joystick I bought your not supposed to try and use the VR controllers for Elite lol. Your MMV.
I have a 4070ti with my G2 and i am very happy at least with the G2 i only need 90htz not the 120htz for the quest.
But i did hear and seen people say the quest 3 is great on sum games but poor on others.
poor on Elite but amazing on DCS world, but they also had a 4090 to talk about there experience .
so beware if you only play elite you may not get that amazing experience you hope for because the quest 3 is newer.
Most games have been optimised for the hardware of yesterday not tomorrow.
so newer hardware just dont have the support.
Giving you worse experience
just food for thought before you going buying something which may be better buying something cheaper.
Two hours of wireless gaming woot woot
Hold the phone.
This is elite dangerous and correct me if i am wrong but why would you need wireless if this is a sit down simulator ???
I can put in a full day of elite dangerous and driving sims all in VR corded with no problems.
I can understand if you are walking around the room but sitting in a chair ?
Just see it now in a online battle in VR wireless with a thargoid and you need to change the battery in the middle of your fight with it, chances of survival 0% hahahahaha
I'm considering the Big Screen Beyond, or maybe waiting to see what the next Steam hardware is going to be like. Meanwhile iI suffer with my grainy old Vive.
I have a HP Reverb as well, and it's quite annoying with that cord in my chair honestly(it is the G1 version though from 4 years ago). It tugs on my head as I turn right to left, which was some of the reason I wanted a Quest 3 when I saw the resolution was similar and it's wireless. With the Quest 3 I can look all around and its just more comfortable *shrug.* The clarity is pretty similar to the Reverb as well.
i forgot to mention. I'm using a lot of 3rd party tools while playing Elite. With VR you need to take of your Headset wile looking at google, or im not sure how would i do that otherwise.
