Yes, for the going rate currently on sale, $14 bucks or so? Full asking price of $39.99? No. It has gotten a lot better but like most Frontier Products, is still buggy to an extent. It adds an interesting dimension to the game that is for sure.

If you want what it provides, then yes, it's worth it. Odyssey works much better than how it did at the beginning.

Just make sure that you know what Odyssey is adding to the game, so you wouldn't complain about a missing feature that was never announced to be added.

If you like grind, repetitive missions and bullet sponge enemies you'll love it.

I have started playing again after a 2 year break and I saw Odyssey on sale so I thought this a good time to try it. I really like the exploration, not interested in ground combat but for 6 euros, I am happy with what I have gained. I am sure there is more for me to try but I am happy.

The bad reviews put me off for a long time but once it came on 50% sale I bought it and I think it's great by adding a few new dimensions to game play.

Its not worth it. There just too much to explain why.

"Always was."

Odyssey plays a bit like OG thief/deus ex in a good way.
Wrt time/value, few games comes close to elite.

Thanks for the answers, I'll get it because it's on sale

I didn't give the original game enough of a try and quit for years, until today I bought the DLC and tried to play... It's far harder to start and I didn't get a ship, but am left stuck at some station. It's so shocking how poorly some publishers make products that still manage to sell.. I don't know if I should uninstall and remove it forever, or just keep trying to get past this BRICK wall they put up for new players.

Look at when most of those reviews were made. The majority of negative reviews were made just after Odyssey launched because it had problems - lots of them. FDev did a lot of clean up - it is pretty stable now and worth it.

If you haven't got your ship yet, you're still in the tutorial...

After the on-foot tutorial, go to the Ad Astra desk and talk to the ship sales person. They will put you in the ship tutorial, and once you've done that you'll have your starter ship.

If that is what you think of Odyssey presumably you also think that about the space based part of the game.
