Also, always drive with drive assist off in the SRV.
You might not think you're going fast at 30 m/s but that's 108 kph, which is a decent speed for a modern car driving on asphalt. Imagine now taking that car over very bumpy terrain and think what trying to drive at over 100 kph would be like!
It keeps your throttle at a set position, similar to cruise control. Which can be a massive pain in the ass when you're bouncing over rough terrain in 0.05G.
Sometimes the SRV wants to surge (usually on ice/snow planets). You can reset it by throttling down to zero and then starting to accelerate again. Useful if you moving around in a tight spot.
Sometimes the Throttle doesn't go to zero, IMHO that happens if the throttle isn't on zero while starting the game.
That affects space ships too, but is less noticeable.
Moving the Throttle axis full up and down before launching the game helps sometimes.
Same problem with the rotaries of the X52pro and the small analog slider.
I use them for roll & yaw while in landing mode and for sensor range.
