There are also carriers along the route, just like the carrier network out in the black.

For those who want to hitch a ride there is a departure at 23rd of may:

Bonusinfo: there are some megaships that also tour the galaxy and offers an alternative mode of transportation ie shuttle service. Some are defunct and some works. (mystery)
My first trip was just out of curiosity, it was a disappointing experience and I quickly left for the galaxy core (which was even more disappointing). Add to this the lag inside the centre of the Milkyway... There are literally stars touching each other, that's how bad it is around Saggitarius A. its not a problem when you fly but it's a destroyer when using galmap.
About the future:
Colonia will be a much more popular place in the future, I predict. We have already seen players moving there to escape the squids and avoid the war, or signing up to CG's like the 'bridge' (Colonia Highway is the unofficial nickname afaik), while others just take the opportunity to work on the BGS in relative peace... plenty of reasons to go there, and in Colonia there are good engineers now, too.
About jump range:
If you don't like jumping or scooping, just hop on a carrier, easy fix.
About ships:
It is a long journey, so a Guardian FSD Booster module is a good idea. However, one can use any ship. I've used a new ship each time, among them a Beluga... the fourth time it was a Python I think. And I am going again. As Colonia grows it becomes increasingly more worth it going there to stay and play :)
35%... i've won?
5486 showing in the bubble, 265 in Colonia. Another thousand or so outside that?
Bear in mind that's only people who sync their data, which many players don't bother to do.
Pro tip, thank you
I really like Colonia as well.
I actually cross paths with other Cmdrs more frequently here than in the bubble.
So the answer to OP's question would be "Less than 5 percent"
Like I said before
If the makers of this game wanted their players to make it to Colonia
They would make it accessible
and then they would make it worthwhile
Two things that have not been done
They literally built a bridge from the Bubble to Colonia with stations 500 ly apart, after players supplied materials for several Community Goals.
I was one of the first to travel along it, and recorded a video of my arrival and tour of each station.
The Neutron superhighway that runs from the Bubble to Colonia ...
And when you get their, check the stars. The views are incredible.
Also the engineers are all within 30 or so ly of each other.
