If your looking for exploration - its meh
looking for ground combat - also meh
overall it doesn't excel in these areas compared to other space games on the market, but its not bad, just meh.
I would say save your money unless there is a sale.

Well, yes, obviously. 😄 However, without buying it to try it they'll never truly know if it's worth it to them. hence the query.
It's a pointless question, really. Without any knowledge of what the OP likes, there's no real way to answer the question. It's why I usually suggest watching gameplay videos to try and decide if it's the kind of thing you will enjoy.
Personally I think Odyssey is worth it as it's added a lot of new things to the game. Whether or not someone else will agree with me depends on their own personal preference and I can't speak for that.
If you're an advanced player you've got planetary landings and biology to keep you active+engineering your suit and guns if that fits your fancy
You said "Only you will know if it's worth it for you" so that implies reading what other people say or watching videos about what people have to say futile. In both cases they are paying attention to what other people are saying. Your initial post was too vague to be of any practical use to anyone.
Exactly.
Yep, that's the nub of the issue.

The point of watching gameplay videos is not to listen to the player's commentary but to see the game itself firsthand. That's what I base my purchases on when I'm on the fence about it. I'll watch 20-30 minutes of gameplay to get a good idea of what the game looks like and what I can expect going in.
