Original thread poster needs to keep in mind you are posting for yourself not everyone. Just like this game is not enjoyable for everyone.
You know, their winter bungalow. Where they go to Florida between October and like...mid February.
Actually, in this past week 2 Frontier people have commented on threads here. First time I've ever seen them around.
- Manufactured upgrade materials can be acquired anywhere in the bubble where Thargoids aren't there.
- Encoded materials can be acquired anywhere in the bubble where Thargoids aren't there.
- Raw materials/resources can be acquired anywhere you can do space mining or planetary landings, regardless of whether Thargoids are there or not.
- Every material type for handheld weapons and spacesuits can be collected where Thargoids aren't there.
So don't worry, seems like the Thargoids won't really be bothering you. But if you really need a solution to the problem, here's your instant fix:
- Open Galaxy Map
- Look up Thargoid-infested systems
- Plot a detour around them
- Done! You're there
But... effort = hard. Asking the Devs to take out one of the only interactive plot points in the game that players have been affecting is easier.
I just hope the devs don't forget that there's a lot of player/consumer input that should be categorically ignored. I've seen good stuff in other games and also in non-game contexts, broken because of blind loyalty to "consumer feedback".
If it improves your product, then by all means, it should be taken seriously. But there's also misplaced consumer expectations.
Each jump has had a chance to encounter them, and sometimes players were left stranded with not enough fuel for the next jump after defeating them.
If you don't like to be stopped by Thargoids going to a multiplayer only game in early Alpha or a classic rpg with random encounters isn't a good idea.
Nothing worse than pancaking out in the black,700 jumps from a base in a 20ly range ship...
Maybe if they did bother to read here, they would learn why player numbers are dropping.
Human ,I have seen about seven in five years ( was ganked by one too),as for goids.
Wear ya brown pants and hitch a lift towards a maelstrom.
As many people play solo play or squadron,it is rare to come across a real person.
They would honestly be better off getting rid of solo.
As the bounty climbs, the NFP's would start to hammer them
