How to Uninstall?
How on Earth (or in the Galaxy) do you uninstall this game?

Just to say I don't have any problem with the game but right now I need the space for work which seems to have gone crazy since the start of the year. Will come back to the game but for now I need it gone.

So I went to Add/Remove programs in Windows and clicked to Uninstall. This action loaded Steam which does now have uninstall indicators but nothing is happening. Took my wife to work 45 mins ago and left it. Nothing has happened. I see the little blue thingy in Steam saying Uninstalling but it isn't from what I can see.

Thanks for any ideas. Not sure I simply want to delete the directory due to any potential Windows Registry screw ups.

Go into the Elite Dangerous program folder and manually delete the contents of the Products folder. Those are the binary game files.

Next time you want to play, verify the game files via steam and it will replace them.

Aaaah thank you bro. And this manual deletion of files won't upset the Windows registry and things like that?

those files in registry will be left behind unless you go in there and delete one at a time.

unless you get a uninstall program which will remove all files for you.
but still i would say be care full manual delete as much gets left behind.

and worse case you may have to re install windows all over again.

maybe get another drive and just switch them over one for work one for play

No, it won't bother the registry at all. It just means if you try to run the game it won't work as the files are missing.

Sorry to sound stupid and if my reply is point less, but why not delete the game like any Steam game? i guess it did not worked and i sort missed the initial problem and forgive me. But once in your Steam Library inside the Steam app, if you right click on your game, then select Manage and then select Uninstall, it should do the job, this is basiacly how i delete all Steam game once i am done with is, or finished it.

If he's installed Horizons 4.0 that's not installed via Steam, and I'm guessing the launcher is taking forever to delete the files.

So I got the original game from Steam which included original Horizon's. Then got a key from another online shop to buy Odyssey, can't remember which shop now. Shortly after that the 4.0 upgrade went on as well.

I deleted all the program files as you recommended Sighman, thanks. It has had no ill effects on the computer at all and everything is working just fine.

Will of course follow that advice Malorob. Thanks. More space is obviously needed here and the past few days have just been a case of instant necessity.

Thanks everybody. Will get back into the ranks before too long.

Buy an external hard drive if you need more space.
