Reverb G2 owners
So I got the V2 a few weeks ago, started having issues, then crapped out on me....kept fiddling with it, and sure enough, if I bend the connector wire at the headset plug, seems to work. Not sure how I messed it up that quick, but anyways, need a replacement cable/box.

Out of stock almost everywhere, P/N 22J68AA. I know this is also the "fix" for the original G2's, so demand I guess would be high. Found a few out there, but ridiculously priced.

Anyone know of a good site to pick the entire cable and box assembly up? I found one site in France that is actually around the HP site cost ($79.00) and they say worldwide delivery, but just wondering if anyone had gotten one recently and knows of a better site.

Thanks.

jeepers buddy i never had that problem ....... i just pluged it in a no problems

i would tell you if your shopping for a cable just make sure it is compatible with your countries head set.

i would just bite the bullet and pay extra in my own country so if anything goes wrong then getting it replaced will be simple transaction not a frustrating one.

The temporary fix of bending it oddly didn't work well, not transmitting full data and was getting reprojection and just acting funky. Think I'm going to see if they'll replace it. Bought it through Amazon and for this I did buy like a $40 warranty deal thingy, glad I did.

I'm sure it's going to be a hassle either way :(

Back to triple monitors for me :) That's still great though, with my system I can run everything maxed out, and to be honest for long game sessions the VR can be a bit tiring, y'know?

bending or manipulating anything is just crazy if it dont work like it should return it.

But i know if i buy local at least i know if there is a problem i can deal with people either over the phone or face to face.

and quick fix is never a solution

i would go back to where you got the reverb and tell them what happen and asked for a replacement if it is still under warranty.

but if you brought the G2 used then maybe think you may have a faulty unit and that is why they sold it in the first place.
and never buy second hand electrical s
Ouch, sorry to hear that. I think I have the same issue, after stepping and pulling on a cable way too strong a few times (I was surprised that it survived that even once).

I have a cable ductaped to a frame now, and unplugging/replugging a few times gets it working for me. But sometime it still loses the connection mid-game. Yep, unpleasant. At least, I have an older Vive Pro to fall back, if it stops working altogether.

I bit the bullet and ordered one from:
https://immersive-display.com/en/hp-reverb/704-hp-reverb-g2-cable-6-meters.html
Will report on results. The site looks legit, that domain was registered 7 years ago, shouldn't be a scam. The site has updated their stock availability after my purchase, too (was 87, now 86).

My roommate has the Reverb G2. He had the same exact issue a month or 2 ago. He was able to set up an RMA though, since he was within a year of purchasing it. However, the RMA was going to take longer than he wanted, so he also bought a cable. HP tech support told him to check out the HP Parts store site, not the actual HP site. Maybe check that out?

*Edit* From my roommate just now

Thanks for that...these sob's are charging double, 185.90. But I may suck it up, at the very least I'll have a backup...but that's almost half what I paid for entire setup.

It doesn't give an estimate on shipping time...can you ask your roommate did he order it, and what is the shipping time (assuming he is in the U.S.)

Found 1 on ebay that's less and in the U.S., the rest are all China :(

I may still go through the RMA process for the entire set, contacting the seller tomorrow.

We are in the U.S. I dont remember exactly the time, but it was less than a week for shipping, in the Chicago area. I would recommend doing an RMA as well, that way you got a replacement in case it happens again. If I buy one, Im going to set up an RMA soon as I get it and ask for a "replacement" so I dont have to worry about it when the time comes for the cable to break.

A week sounds good I guess. I think I'll do that first, the RMA process looks like a pain because I'm already getting bounced around, and the seller info in Amazon looks like mud, looks like they don't want to be contacted, you know how that goes :(

Think I'll do the cable first, and if that fixes it I'll harass them to give me another cable or a new set, that way I have a backup, or can resell one of them.

I certainly miss it, but there are things about the triple monitors that are good too, as I have a good system and can pretty much max everything out.

I remember when I assembled the set, looking at that connection and no liking it. I made sure and routed the cable the way they said, but apparently that's not very good. I plan on finding a way to stiffen up that last little portion where the connector is. Maybe a couple of small steel bars wrapped in tape to keep it inline and nice and stiff. Lesson learned, I hope.

Yeah, from the way my roommate explains it, finding a way to stiffen the cable is a good idea. Once in a while when moving around, he has run into the issue with the connection. He said making sure the cable is straight as possible near the connection usually fixes it. Good luck. Hope it works out for you!

185?! Immersive Display sells it for €80. Even with EMS shipping abroad it costed me only €114.

Have you gotten an estimated shipping time? I meant to tell you that was the exact site I came across also, In France right? They claim to ship worldwide and state a quick delivery, I'm assuming their boasting applies for worldwide delivery.

I'd be willing to wait a bit longer.

They say 3-5 days to here (yes, from France). I have ordered it early morning and I am already tracking it. It looks like they try to stand by what they say.
