what king of analglyph glasses for elite dangerous?
i bough a pair of analglyph/red/cyan glasses but it's even not enjoyable to play in green display 3d.
(there is some lack of 3d animation too)
it is normal that we can't see the color of a planet of true color with analglyph mode?

I didn't even know ED had an anaglyph mode. Shows how little I know.
With all the red in the game, I would think anaglyph mode wouldn't work too well.
I just searched for it on youtube, and it looks like it converts a lot of the game color to yellow. (I can't find my red/blue glasses to check it out) If so my guess is that it's supposed to wokr with the standard red/cyan.

i have red/cyan glasses bough from amazon.i have found something on the net that elite dangerous don't work well in analglyph.i have the same problem from all the other that they're tryed to play in analglyph.and...
i know well how analglyph is working because, back when i was 15teen,i have made some graphic in analglyph on my TRS-computer 3 and how far as i know, game in analglyph must have animation depp like star in warp space must have it's 3d effect.elite dangerous analglyph have only static depp 3d.that is useless

I don't think it does, I'm guessing op is using 3d anaglyph through his graphics driver control panel... Might be wrong though?

It does, but analglyph is never true color so no idea what OP is on about ...

the color are not as the real 3d but it's usualy not so bad with other games.legend of grimrock are great in 3d analglyph.
elite dangerous have the option to switch graphics mode in 3d analglyph or side by side.
also if you have a nvidia graphic card or onther that suport sterioscopic 3d you can play most of the game you bough on steam in 3d analglyph

Oh god how did I not notice that? Analglyph sounds like some sort of irritating bowel disease lol.

Anaglyph does not produce true colour images, it is impossible, as it relies on filtering specific colours. The alternative is to switch to a 3d system that uses polarised light, but that can start getting expensive, and does not work well on lcd screens, its better suited to crt. Or an lc shutter system, the lc shutter system needs a monitor capable of producing a high refresh rate, as alternate left and right images are displayed and glasses that work in conjunction, blocking out one eye then the other in synch with the screen; this is how Nvidia's 3d works.

It was possible to get custom drivers to add several different types of anaglyph 3d to any game, besides the fact that results were mixed, the company producing them stopped selling them after some legal wrangles.

The final alternative is VR and produces the best images; previously this was limited by the processing power of typical pc's but this is becoming less of an issue and has allowed oculus and HTC to start producing commercial units.

The red and cyan colours used in Elite dangerous mode are not the same as the regular glasses you can pick up so you can see to much of each image through each one of the lenses making it work but badly, very headache inducing (more than normal) No idea why they never went with the usual colours red and cyan I can't find a pair that work properly and I've tried a few different pairs.

it's what i am thinking and saw on the net

Elite's anaglyph mode works with red/green glasses only. It doubles the fields rendered, though, so unless you have a powerful computer, you'll tax your system heavily.

There used to be a vendor called Eyecessories in OZ that sold quality anaglyph glasses, but I think thay've gone out of business. If you really want anaglyph for Elite, you'll need red-green as opposed to red cyan or purple green.

No idea why they decided to use those colours seeing as almost every damn pair of glasses you can find online are the Red/Blue versions... *sigh* it's a cool 3D effect though, just a shame they used a bad colour choice.

Red Green gives you the truest "colour", but the green lets in too much red. Red Blue gives you the best colour separation, but you won't see any true "colours". Green Magenta and Red Cyan are more advanced and more common.

Nope, not true.
Unlike other people I googled for a second and top result was this thread.
