Can I please have option to turn interdiction off
I love this game, however I stopped playing it because of constant interdiction. I play in solo and could be traveling with no missions and an empty hold, and still get interdicted. eventually I got sick and tired of this and just walked away from the game because there is no fun in having to fight for your life every time you enter space. All I ask for is a menu toggle for solo only that switches off interdiction because seriously Frontier, some of us just wanna play in peace. If we wanted conflict we would play online and seek it out. Is this really so hard to understand???. If you accept a mission that may send ships after you then a simple message could be displayed informing you that id may occur. Really Frontier, it wouldnt be that hard to do. Give us a "peaceful" mode.

Submit, boost, jump. It's not that hard. You don't need to fight, you don't need to try and escape, you don't even need to check who interdicted you. Submit, boost and jump and I assure you if you take any fire won't get through your shields. Submit, boost *chaff* and jump if you want to be extra-duper-sure.

No, you can't turn interdictions off.

I am well aware of this and I am also well aware that you cant turn it off. believe me if it were that easy no problem but it doesnt always work. Ive had them relentlessly pursue me for absolutely no reason.

Submit, boost, jump.

Or if you're flying a combat ready vessel: submit, kill, jump.

Either way works 99.9% of the time.

...there is no fun in having to fight for your life every time you enter space.

I beg to differ. In fact that's the whole point of the game. It is called Elite DANGEROUS after all... You should expect danger in many forms, including being attacked.

If you accept a mission that may send ships after you then a simple message could be displayed informing you that id may occur. Really Frontier, it wouldnt be that hard to do.

Or you can just "safely" asssume that any mission you accept is going to spawn NPCs who may or may not be hostile. This is even easier than asking Frontier to make a "peaceful game mode", as it doesn't require a single key stroke by anybody. Never mind hacking big chunks of code out of the game... They've already nerfed interdictions to the point that people who play the game for what it is are complaining they're not being interdicted enough.

Give us a "peaceful" mode.

No. Can you think of any space faring, combat and trading game where you don't have to fight sometimes? Might I suggest Microsoft Flight or Euro Truck Simulator would be something more to your liking?

As for you being pursued for "no reason", answer the following questions, and we'll probably be able to tell you why you're having problems with being interdicted:

Do you have any bounties against you?
Are you carrying any materials or data on your ship?
Are you pledged to somebody in power play?
Are you allied with any minor factions?
Have you been running a lot of missions from the same location?
Or have you been trading a lot on the same trade route?
What are your pilot ranks (combat/trade/exploration)?
What are your major faction ranks (Empire/Federation/Alliance)?
What ship are you flying, and what's your loadout?
What's the security state of the system you're in?

(edited: added an extra question).

I'm curious what you were expecting, they told you that you will never get that option because thats part of the game, then gave you tips on how to evade your persuer. Then you turn around and be rude to them?

also, I'd like an option to choose which missions I get, how much I'll get paid for them, and hiw much faction rep I'll get.

...and also I'd lole to able to just have checkboxes I can check on or off for achievements without all that annoying gameplay.

What do you think we mean when we say: "Submit, boost, JUMP"?

This has been standard procedure since before Horizons.

No it has not. Before Horizons and even after Horizons these NPCs did not cheat their way into your instance and then constantly interdict you after that, or at least I never experienced this before the latest updates. Perhaps my rank was too low or perhaps the frequency of it happening was significantly lower.

That doesn't change the fact that the recommended method has been "submit, boost, jump" since before Horizons came out... The entire time I've been playing the game in fact. You even said it yourself in your previous post: "...leave the system and come back at which point the NPC is gone."

Eh, whatever. It's 6.30 in the morning. I'm off to bed.

Have fun bickering amongst yourselves before the mods wake up.

Nothing here is against the forum rules. No one is flaming anyone and no one is out of line. It might pee in your Cheerios so to speak but that doesn't mean its against the rules.

no powerplay= less chance getting interdicted(for me aleast)
PenguinBystandah Jul 10, 2016 @ 12:45am
It is true. Interdictions are a part of the game, especially on some delivery missions. If it's one of those NPCs that follow me from system to system, I'll usually evade them (via the tried and true submit, boost, jump method) until i get to the destination system and then submit once more before making the piddly pirate my ♥♥♥♥♥. That way, not only do I get the extra reward for putting them away, I can collect the bounty the mark had on them too.

Bottom line, interdictions aren't going anywhere. As the others before me mentioned, the submit, boost, and jump method works the best. If you're worried about losing creds in insurance costs, practice with a cheaper vessel until the concept is etched on the back of your head.

I just submit to the interdiction. If the ship is small enough with no wingmen, I just kill him and collect the bounty.
raymazoida Jul 10, 2016 @ 2:04am
If I could op I'd swap my one interdiction a night No matter what I'm doing for your loads. Because when I've got ten missions and 250 illegal goods one interdiction doesn't cut it.
