The Dropship on the other hand does not have most of these problems but on the other hand it acts more inagile and slow in dogfighting situations.
Fast enough, maneuverable enough (not great though) with a nice punch and really good shields (mine has 550 MJ with standard shields)
And it is really sexy looking.
On the "cons" side: bad jump range, bad armour, small internals.
It is also really cheap. Mine cost 11 million with everything A rated and military armour.
Going to have to disagree with your assessment a bit.
While the iCourier doesn't have much total room, it does have 6 slots, which is a pretty good for such a small ship.
For combat, the iCourier is a damn fine ship. No large hardpoints, to bigger ships take a while to get down, and fairly agile and fast meaning you can run circles round bigger ships and run from anything you can't handle. Not to mention, you can shield them up to have the shield strength of a much bigger ship.
The Dropship though.... not so good for combat. Its a bit of a tank with poor shields for its size. Good forward firepower and convergence, you can do some nice alpha strikes, but something more nimble than you will give you trouble unless you equip turrets.
I was always suprised by the amount of shielding that the couriers packed too. I'm kind of drawn to the lower stakes, whats the rebuy cost on that fully ranked courier?
coz if you're looking for trade for instance , none of the 2 are good at it
Lack of jump range isn't a problem, tbh. I've been flying the Python, FDL, and other such ships where i'm pretty sure an olypic athlete could jump further than they could.
I'm doing most of the board missions with a Cobra MK3, just because I'm tired of flying the ASP. That ship is so versatile, you can do anything on it! (except fighting)
The only problem with getting the FAS (god, even its name sounds badass!) is the rank requirement, which is why i was considering the drop ship, if rank wasn't a problem i'd be asking 'Vette or Cutter.
do you have Empire Ranking because you will need it for the iCourier its not a free for all ship like the iEagle. as someone who has flown an iCourier i will say its a blast to fly nimble and fast and with 3 medium hardpoints for its size you can take take out just about anything. just use 1 medium beam laser and 2 cannons of what ever kind you like its power plant can't take 3 lasers.
