How the Heck Do You Find Conflict Zones??
I've been a smuggler up until now, but I'm ready to start exploring other elements in the game. The reason I've been primarily a smuggler is because of how obscure I've found engaging in combat to be. Tonight I've gone to several of the systems listed in GalNet, and I still haven't found a single freaking conflict zone. What the heck is up? How are they listed in my navigation panel? Is there some icon or something I'm overlooking?

I know it's probably an intentional design style, but it's the lack of clarity in these types of things that can make the game so frustrating at times.

To find conflict zone you need to find a system in war state. Unfortunately there's no good way to find systems' with certain state info, so it's all kind of a random for you. (Or you could just provoke a state by doing missions.)

How are people posting about going to conflict zones and making "x" number of dollars every day then? There must be a way for them to figure out where to go, without spending hours jumping between systems or doing missions before they even find a conflict zone.

There will be in 1.6/2.1. You'll be able to filter the galaxy map by all of the the minor faction states.

In 2.1 we will get new map filters, where you will be able to filter the map by state. So it will show systems that are in lockdown, or boom, or famine, or war/civil war.

Another way to find info is read galnet. IIRC there is a weekly article that lists systems in conflict.

That sounds good! When does 2.1 get released? I heard something about an engineering beta releasing on the 8th.

The beta starts tomorrow for those who have access. Release will be in a few weeks time.

Or it Just wasn't a purchase option... :p

Beta wasn't available on steam because horizons released on steam when the release was official and by then the beta package has been removed.

Those who bought beta access horizons (on frontiers store), those with lifetime expansion pass and equivalent kickstarter backers have beta access for 2.1.

Yeah being able to filter by state is huge ... we've been askig for a long time to have a way to find conflict zones. This will do it.

Early backers, lifetime expansion pass owners and those who bought the Horizons beta when it was available.
