Peace with the game's arch nemesis.
Here I'm thinking at it should i ruin the pointless brickering over peace with Thargoids.
But i guess i must simply because i got quite tired of the ripples it creates in life.

So here we go....

Yet again, peace with the game's arch nemesis?
Yeah, sure, PLZ humor me some more... :sefacepalm:

Give flower power a chance!!!

While I do believe that the chance of a peaceful resolution are slim to none....All out war seems a bit ...Obvious (?) in terms of what FDEV might be thinking or planing. I would be interested in what game mechanics/missions/technology etc would come about with a Armistice or a cease fire in place. Maybe we will be pleasantly surprised. As a retired 13F, Im the last person who wants to go to war and as a explorer/cargo person, that also applies in the game.

To think there can be peace with the arch nemesis of the fracnishe while the whole game
built around the concept to shoot everything into smithereens is delusional.
However? It can serve as an interesting RPG and story telling opportunity.

What I'm waiting and except, to have some ground based Thargoid missions,
and guardians get bigger role. it would be interesting to see a three sided conflict.

"Can there be peace? 'No peace!' What do you want from us? 'Die!'"

As is, of course there will be no peace with Thargoids because it would remove a major part of the end game content. That's not to say a bigger enemy that united our efforts could not be a thing though. Suppose for example the Guardian Constructs return and attack both Humans and Thargoids. Unlikely I suspect but there are scenarios that could shift the narrative and maintain the pew pew nature of the game.

Exactly and there are some cases which make this possible, alttrough all of em is a banality.
some remote outposts at the far edge of the galaxy got activated by tampering or as the result of the human - thargoid ruckus and brings online some of the ruined outposts,
Or even the guardians can return at some extend with cryogenics or some even fancier technology, there's quite a few possible screnarios, and in the matter of fact any
ground or space encounter with thargoids or guardians can be a welcome change
and a sight to see as these two beating each others.
They kill you for hovering over an unassigned landing pad for a few minutes. They are not exactly the bunch of people who will try to make peace with somebody much more sinister than that.

"We come in peace, shoot to kill!"

"To be prepared for war is one of the most effectual means of preserving peace."

(Besides - once the Kingfisher gets annihilated, communicating with Thargoids will be moot)

A lot of people seem to forget that, before Thargoids appeared in Elite Dangerous, they were thought decimated, if not outright extinct. The reason? Biological genocide at the hands of Humans[elite-dangerous.fandom.com].

When they first appeared before the current war, they were seemingly neutral. Harmless hyperdictions and scans. They seemed, and still seem, to be occupied with their own tech and Guardian tech. If it wasn't for the "shoot first, ask questions later" reaction and, frankly unnecessary, anti-Xeno mentality, this war could've been avoided from the start, and these talks of peace unwarranted.

From how I see it, they were in shambles, and humans deeply overreacted. Their actions at this point were provoked.

This was probably Frontier's plan, the war was unavoidable. I think they anticipated a strong, armed response from the playerbase.

There can be no peace. For gameplay reasons obviously, but for lore reasons, the Thargoids have, by all indications, only been creatures of Habit and instinct. They behave like ants, simply seeking new territory with vanguards and scouts, withdrawing when serious resistance is met, and defending their existing territory with utmost hostility.

You need to start thinking of the thargoids less as a sentient species, and more of an animal. That doesn't mean they aren't intelligent, but their frame of thinking is so vastly different than ours, it would be like explaining music to the deaf, color to the blind, running to the lame, math to the dim and empathy to the sociopathic.

They may, and probably due have sentience, but it is one of an irreconcilable difference between what we call sentient and the Thargoids would call sentience. It's not even a barrier of language or communication.

In the same way you wouldn't try to open up diplomatic channels with a swarm of ants or wasps, here too, is it a fruitless effort. Where our two civilizations have some kind of conflict, it will always result in force until one party submits. Diplomacy with the Thargoids may mean appeasement and surrendering of territory or resources more enticing to them. And as a cost-benefit analysis, there might be times where that is preferable to war or open conflict

Rudimentary anti-Xeno propaganda.

Sonny... disruping mayor systems shutting down entire spaceports wreaking havoc in shipping lines and by doing so endangering untold billions not to mention the ones died because of these are far from harmless and in the matter of fact? is an act of war all by itself.

And what did you forgot about that genocide that was a similar situation as the one right now they kept coming and attacking screwing things up

But do please try to give the crap to the first troll hunter trolls and goblins are not evil
just misunderstood, and mean no harm. because you are this much of an idiot.
do you know what I'm going to do? Gonna Laugh at your face and put you up to the problem list.

In my Elite history, I befriended the Thargoids rather than destroy them. Got a nice ship for my friendship too.

Correct assesment they act like an ant mega colony they just keep coming and coming
and flooding and the more they are the more agressive they get and unless we do something about it? They will going to flood everything. War? Pleace? This is merely bug extermination.

That was first encounters it was bugged so shut it down but got reinstated by some folks. I also did it for fun if there's a game ending a gamer going to take a look to it but as far they act agressively? we have little to no choice.
peace is only possible if the other is a partner, and not a trouble with capital T
