Is the Dweller worth it ?

I'm ready to start upgrading my ship with Horizon. I wanted to upgrade my pulse lasers. But is it really worth it to spend so much time and credits with this guy ?

If you plan on doing engineer stuff you kinda have to work with all of them at some point nayways to unlock ones further down the line.

If you want to mod lasers, the dweller is your man

A "Heat Vane" special effect on beam lasers is a blast - as long as you don't miss the target, it doesn't raise the ship's heat. I have it on 1 huge + 1 medium on an FDL, and shooting them together the heat stays at around 40..50% until I empty the weapons cap. That alone worth the whole deal.
