But it has 'only' has 240 cargo. Better shields to fight the bigger better ship's would cut this further.
The MC suggestions is a sound one, I will be going back and forth between stations loads to reload anyway, thanks for that!
Maybe the largest cargo size wasn't selected when you attempted? Seems like a good build to me, spend most my cash on buying and outfitting a trading Python with 3A shields, max cargo hold, no weapons, Advanced Scammer and the smallest power generator needed. Will save up to buy that build you suggest, cheers!
Experience how to avoid is required for this build
Yeah, MC aren't really for range, that I just discovered. This is fine, because I only intend to use this shirt to fight off interdictors mano-a-mano at close range. I may even opt to shorten the range some more with the Engineers.
I finally saved up to spec my Python described as above, everything except the 6A thrusters (5A for now) and the military grade armor (using stock, that ♥♥♥♥♥ expensive). The only alterations was that I opted for a second shield booster instead of chaff, and added an Advanced Scanner, because I figured I might rank up my explorerer score whilst trading.
I decided to take for a test in some easy combat zones - it held up pretty well! Got too cocky with an Elite Vulture, and he took me down to 33% hull before I bugged out. Thinking of swapping out the two smaller hardpoints for lasers, as it takes forever to take shields down, even on Eagles.
Ew, an Impy! Shoo-shoot!
I'm thinking about sticking mines on my beloved courier ship, but for my Python, I kinda want to take on interdictors for once, instead of boost and go as I normally do. Turrets are a good suggestion though.
Combat
That 8 tonnes of cargo is certainly well protected.
