What was the actual main modification you went for (not the experimental effect)? You said overcharged, but overcharged doesn't exist for beam lasers.
Its also possible to just get bad rolls. No guarantees with Engineers.
I meant short range blaster.
After a roll everything was perfect. It rolled me almost 30% damage increase in second and gave me even -13 distributor draw. But after i spent 2 grades and aplied Thermal shock all numbers went to negative. Damage per second became -30% and distributor draw became +13%. Something about that.
Hmm... interesting. So not even seconday modifiers caused that?
Have you searched for more info about Thermal shock? It may be because it exchanges some of that thermal to direct heat, hence it shows a reduction in DPS (because heat is not DPS damage).
Its not a mod i've tried yet, so could be why.
No no. Primary effects. I rolled it out and were really happy about roll. I rolled these stats from 3rd time and then i decided yeah.. Thats nice roll i should apply Thermal shock (ask for favour) on top of that. Applied that superpower and everything changed to 360 degrees :D
BTW i wrote support about that issue and the i will see what will they say about that.

That is an efficient weapon. I had similar roll on overcharged multi cannons.
I still waiting for answer from devs about what happened with my uber roll that went to negative after aplying special effects. I gues i had so good roll that system even achieved more than "limits" and that''s why it gone to oposite/negative bug. :D
I had 30+ dps for 2nd grade beam. i think it is so cool... it was cool :/
btw. i thought about efficient weapon but i understood FDL is a close combat ship so overcharged or short range is the best.
