Ohh, well that's interesting that they have no ranks, but do they pay slightly more for missions or anything to make up for the fact they have no fancy ships?
It's a faction for those who don't like corrupt govenment officials or slave traders.
1. Empire gets the FANCIEST ships.
2. Aisling has the best stance on slave trading.
3. You may find yourself staring down the barrels of my multicannons if you side with anyone but the Empire - an most unenviable proposition for the most hardened of war veterans.
4. Prismatic shields.
5. Aisling is basically the space version of Khaleesi.
6. Coolest artwork of all the leaders.
7. Coolest name of all the leaders.
Not a single other power can compete with those reasons.
All (well, most) kidding aside, find the reasons you prefer a power to the rest and sign up for those reasons. If you wanna be a backstabbing merc and get gear from all the factions, may you get your gear quickly and may the power sorely miss you when you leave. If other roleplay reasons have you loyal to a faction, may you have a blast and your enemies fall at your feet. If you don't enlist with the Empire and we cross paths, may you fight and die well.
With the Alliance's diversity it complicates everything.
Then The Empires honor system.
The Federation has a mostly clear chain of command and a very powerful navy.
Fair enough, I'm just stating the fact that none are morally better than the other even if the masses in the Alliance feel they're holier than thou.
A true Independant isn't alligned with any Faction, even the faction called "Independant Alliance".
Kinda like a group of Nondenominational churches follwing the same doctrine and must in order to use the franchise name. At that point they're very "denominational" and therefor aren't Nondenominational. Just an example, not bashing anyone's religous beliefs of lack thereof.
Do nothing at all.
I guess I'm just one for the homeworld, I'm not a fan of going far into deep space...and I hold very militaristic ideals that line up more with The Federation than The Empire, plus I believe Thwe Federation, for all it's corruption, is probably a better and more advanced faction than the Alliance, who cannot even be friends with themselves, or the very...feudal Imperials.
At the end of the day though, we will need to stand together, or risk dying alone in the coming future.
The bickering and banter between factions is part of the fun, not to be taken past the RP aspects of the game. That said, when the Thargoids kill the Alliance first for thinking they're immune to their wraith then they wipe out all of the other factions for being "powerful" by mankinds definition, only true independants will be left to pick up the peices and move on.
the galaxy is too big to let anyone tell you how to live your life.
The members of the Alliance are opposed to oppression.
Many dedicated players, that support the Alliance due to various reasons other than money and ships, made the Alliance larger and more influential.
This is only for self protection against the Federation and the Empire.
A lot of players that support the Alliance don't have a problem with aquiring Core Dynamics or Gutamaya tech and delivering it to the New Rossyth shipyards in Alioth for "research". ;)
