What do think of mining in a Vulture?
I really like the Vulture manoeuvrability I mainly do bounty hunting but it get kind of repetitive just wanting try a little bit of mining will the Vulture be alright?

I would think it would be very hard work indeed. The cargo space is tiny, I guess you could try ripping out the shield generator and adding a 32 capacity cargo rack but even then, you only have space for 1 collector module, so limited to 2 limpets collecting.

tbh I would never even try mining in a Vulture, an Asp Explorer or Python are ideal for mining.

However, feel free to try it out ..report back how it went :)

I think it would be about as good as bounty hunting a HAZRES, in a stock type 7, without a shield generator.

Do let us know how it goes. ;o)

only two weaponized hardpoints ... so a mining laser and 1 pulse ... it sounds painful

only "mining" I do in a Vulture is the kind where you land on a planet, drop your SRV and go mining for materials.

it was pretty good is just not enough space to fit everything to cut it short I beetter off getting a dedicated mining ship oh well what ship do you guys recommend? my budget probably around 4-5 million

Are you wanting to keep your Vulture and get something else? Because if you trade it in you should be able to get an ASP or something similar. If you are wanting to keep it and have 4-5 mil you can get a Cobra and set it up for mining and still have plenty left over for re-buys. Cobra would be OK at mining. Not my first choice but with your budget it would be pretty good.

The Vulture really shouldn't be used for anything except combat. With only two hardpoints and limited internals, it's not going to make the best miner.

If you have several million credits, get yourself an Asp. It's just about the opposite of the Vulture in terms of maneuverability, but it has everything else you'd need for mining.

If you don't have that much, try the Cobra, either Mk III or Mk IV. It's only a couple hundred thousand, not expensive to A fit, and it'll let you mine more effectively than a Vulture would. The IV is the bigger ship, will let you do more, but it also twice as expensive as the III.

It would be awful. Asp Explorer minimum for mining.

I'm thinking about getting a keelback I don't really want a pure mining ship just light combat with an decent cargo bay fuel and jump range planning to use it for smuggling, trading and mining with a little bit of self defense

ASP is an awesome ship but it is pricey. You could also go for the type 6. Not good for bounty hunting but great for hauling stuff around and mining. It will be a money maker to get you into the ship you want. Ultimatly I would aim for the Python, it is an almost perfect ship. Can do most anything and all of it really well.

I think the Keelback has more armor, tougher shields etc. You can bounty hunt in one if you really want to. I wouldn't but you could if your careful on who you pick on. Haven't flown one myself but haven't heard much good about it either so I really don't know for sure. I did fly a type 6 quite a bit. Get point defence and at least one mine launcher if you get one to deal with interdictors.
