How can I change my CMDR name?

I have heard that you can change your CMDR name once I just started playing again I have about 40 mill in credits and I don't want to start again can somone please link me where I can change it?

I think you need to delete your save for this but im not sure. if you do, you lose everything and start over

I changed mine, just cleared my saved game and it asked me to input a new name.

Yes support helped me change it they only do it once I think.

If a name change was a thing for like 5-10 Bucks, i would be really happy with it.

Something to take into account if your an explorer and change your name, any discoveries you made with your previous CMDR name will not be updated to your new one. They will remain saying first discovered by your old CMDR.

Odds are the name changes were 'involuntary' because he kept picking innapropriate names and other players were reporting him. Back in the day (read in old-man voice) you submitted your name through the support site for approval (nothing offencive, nothing infringing intelectual property or licenses, nothing with titles or ranks, and nothing already duplicated in the NPC, backer, or lore lists). Ah well.

I just got my name changed, the guy who dealt with the ticket was actually pretty nice
