Thermal Attack!
So is there a good way to defend against this? I know about heat sinks but other than that? Also, how do you get the weapon that gives them? Is that an engineers mod? Still haven't tried any mods yet.....next thing on my list to do BTW

I tend to ignore them most of the time as unless I'm allready close to overheating they don't seem to do that much really (think they were nerfed back a bit) Launch a heat sink if I'm running too hot on the odd occasion, sometimes though I just take it... because its not normally bad enough to worry about.

Those are your options though... take it or sink it.

And yup its an engineers mod.

Cool...Thanks for the info. So what kind of mod? On what weapon?

Can't say I've ever been even CLOSE to overheating as a result of hits by Thermal Attack. And I hunt in a Vulture, not exactly known for its heat-dissipation.

First week post 2.1 it was dicey but after that I've not had issues either really

And even if i did most of the time in my vulture I ignore heat and keep shooting! Better alive with a small amount of module damage than dead lol

Well, plus I "fly against the grain" of the Twin-Pulser/Burster crowd and run a Beamer on the left and a Cannon on the right.

Try switching the cannon for a plasma... Power management is a ♥♥♥♥♥, you might even need to downgrade your shields slightly, you will run hot frequently, and you'll spend a lot of time panicking waiting for the WEP capacitor to recharge... But it's a lot of fun to fly, the plasma gives you practice with fixed weapons, and it kills very quickly. You can even pop the canopy on some ships with the plasma while their shields are still up :steamhappy:

Plus, it looks ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome.

I did plasma v Canon tests on the fdl. Much prefer being able to shoot lol. Canon gives fixed practice too ;)
