That used to be the case, not so sure it applies now. The huge beam on the FDL cuts through ships so quickly it makes it perfect for bounty hunting etc... The python is more of a heavily armed trader...

If you want both cargo and firepower the python is for you. It has more firepower than the FDL, and not agile. Overall the python is a tank.

The FDL is a pure combat ship, more agile than the python and carries less firepower.

With engineers I can see both ships on steroids

FDL is a combat ship. If you need something except killing things, you dont need FDL.

FDL is pure combat ship with god awful jump range and fuel tank size, low number of internals, but with good shields, manuverbility, and have high damage output with a huge + 4 medium hardpoints. Python can carry 200+ cargo easily but with fully loaded hardpoints and A rating internals you still will have a short jump range below 20ly unless you upgrade it through the Engineers. It is also not very agile and can have problems with the new NPC AIs.

Less firepower than the python? I think you might want to go and check the DPS of the huge beam...

So you are basically relying on the huge beam, a huge hardpoint.

The Python has more module capacity, better jump range, more armour, it's a more versatile ship... It does NOT have more firepower than the FDL, which is built for one purpose: Killing things. Quickly...

But you know what... Please. Please show me a Python with higher dps than just the Huge beam on it's own...

I have both well sold the FDL a few days ago caus eI like Python more - DPS wise Python feels a lot stronger! I had a Huge mulitcannon with corrosive shells and 4 medium mulitcannons while the Python also had 5 multicannons with one being corrosive shells...

All I can tell you is tha tthe Python ripped things apard in way less time than the FDL it feels liek way more DPS! So I dont know about your numbers but seems way off to me!

If you're talking pure kinetics, then yeah I have to agree after looking at the stats. The huge multicannon sucks ass, and I wasn't that impressed using a large on the Vulture either. I never even thought to try 3 large multis on the python lol... That's pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sick.

a Python all multis is indeed sick :D I am having a blast with it and dirty drives 3 makes her nicely agile! cant wait to see what dirty drive 5 will do to her :D but thats not something I get anytime soon but slowly making my way towards it which is actually a lot of fun!
