Getting messages

I somtimes gets a promt that I have recieved a new message when I am flying around, and I see that there is a number added to some message panel on my top left. But where do I read this messages?

press '2', scroll over to the messages, press space

is there a way to quick key that? I get mission critical messages at times while I'm fuel scooping or getting shot at and it would be nice to be able to quickly read it

while getting shot at probably not a good time to read messages ;)

set proper keybindings for navigating menues and it becomes second nature... I dont even think about it it is an automatism now...

Well, you ARE the Dread Lord, I'm just some rebel cannon fodder trying to make a buck for a pretty ship to impress the girls :)

Honestly though, I was hoping for a keybinding because I jumped on the flight stick / throttle bandwagon and im trying to avoid as much keyboard usage as I can.

get voice attack! just shout to your virtual assistant program what you need to see and she/he opens it magically for you... better and more fun than a hotkey and just a s fast

This is my only gripe with this game. The controls are grossly unintuitive. When you press enter to send a message to local you should just be able to press tab to move to the next... tab... seems pretty simple

I got Voice Attack, set up Astra with all my personal keybindings (and some noises I downloaded for her to play) and now I can't fly the ship without her! She is amazing..think of something you want her to do? VA lets you make your own commands, write and create them (is very easy to do). Then Astra does them. :D

I would implore you to get VA. It changes the whole game and increases the fun/immersion by tremendous amounts.
