Never ever played a flight sim on a gamepad but I figure an off the rack Xbox style one should do just fine. Elite has xbox bindings on it so it's pretty much guaranteed to work.
It has a force sensing stick and a nice, solid throttle quadrant with a really nice button and hat placement.
It may feel strange at first, but after a while, you'll come to prefer pushing against its hard, solid shaft, rather than wiggling those other floppy sticks about. :3
(No, I'm not even kidding, as unbelieveable as that may sound. ^_^ )
Elite Dangerous
CDF Starfighter
Final Strike
DCS World
I though the force feedback in Elite Dangerous it was with less buttons than really need but Old Coot says is great then I am going to try again with a good tutorial
Think I play with VR glasses so I need the keyboard with more buttons programed I can, to not to be looking for the keyboard
Thank you for all of you for your contributions. :-) I will tell you which one I decide and the reasons for.
ED is a flight game. It needs flight controller.
I did do the "throttle detent removal" mod on my x52.
the only hard part is the game itself and configuring the stick to the game.
took 2 hours just to get that you cant adjust the yaw,as it uses pitch and roll, which is a horrible flight mechanic
my gripe with it was the "rudder" controls on the throttle onlyndo lateral thrust, while the x52 has a POV hat that basically lets you split all lateral controls to your left hand and axial controls to your right. there's also more buttons requiring less "shift" modes necessary to map all the buttons....but yeah for the price its fantastic.
Both had been used to play Freespace 2 and Battlefield 2142 First Strike (Star Wars Mod).
The T Flight Hotas is a cheap entry level Hotas and a good beginners choice.
For some games with a more arcade style of dogfighting (Battlefield 3 & 4) it's even better than the more expensive X52pro.
The X52pro has much more precision, sniping turrets in Freespace 2 works great while the T Flight Hotas can't do that.
The X52pro has also much more buttons and a 8 way ♥♥♥♥♥♥ hat on the throttle ideal to map the vertical and lateral thrusters in Elite Dangerous.
Throttle and stick are connected with a PS2 cable and are one game controller in your systems controll panel.
Thats a big difference to the X52pro successors like the X55 and X56.
If money isn't a matter I would suggest the X52pro
