Lost my ship because of a bug, probably quitting

So I can't be the only one who does assasination missions in trash systems and then skip out on the bounties right?

I FINALLY made enough money to buy a vulture, and so I souped it up and went out to try out the new ship (NEVER had a bounty in my home system). I made it to the nav beacon and set down my oculus to finish smoking a cigarette. I'm completely stationary, mind you, I have a thrustmaster and the throttle was disabled. I swear to god, the system authorities vessel says "I bet you thought we wouldn't find out about your crimes!" or something like that. Next thing I know, I'm being lit up by two pythons strolling by and my vulture didn't stand a chance.

I'm like whatever, I have plenty of money I can still loan. I go back to the spot and THE SAME THING HAPPENS (Keep in mind, through this whole experience, I never once fired or bumped anyone, nor did my status say WANTED, only until after the authorities scanned me and shot me was I labled WANTED- and it said 400 Bounty gained in xxxx system). I went to 2 STARPORTS and tried to clear any fees or anything and when I get to my home starport, the SAME THING HAPPENS. I request docking, and as I approached the bay I get another message from the authorities and get lit up by the station!

SO THEN I'M REALLY MAD.

I search online, I read about the rules over and over, No one says anything about authorities using a kill warrant scanner so I'm like what the absolute ♥♥♥♥ is going on.
I have like NO credits left, so I scrap some upgrades on my vulture and buy a sidewinder for precautions. I peel out with the new sidewinder and nothing ♥♥♥♥ing happens. Have a nice day commander- GO ♥♥♥♥ YOURSELF!

Long story short I spend 2 days trying to climb out of debt with my new vulture, managed to load it with shields and cell banks etc and I ended up eating it when my assassination target ended up having a wing of 5 other guys pounce me.

So ♥♥♥♥ this, I thought I'd share my story.

I've lost ships even restarted from absolute zero cleared rep and all. I went from a rated Annie and several other a rated ships to a repless sidey. It sucks yes but in a way it's totally enlightening to have no burdens. You don't lose your expierence as a captain and a fairly intelligent captain can have a vulture in about 2-3 days of real hard playing. Don't be discouraged just look at it as a fresh start.

Yeah, you're probably right. Just thought I'd share, in case someone like me spends an hour on google terrified to leave the starport

I said this in another thread from an OP that was frustrated with the current state of the game but my comment was deleted for some reason. I had my ship destroyed due to a bug doing a base attack run, I lost the time it took to destroy the NPC ships and most base defenses, insurance credits, and most important of all, my cargo, that had almost every item I needed for multiple upgrades and attempts. All FD customer support can or will do is replace the credits, they do not replace items. That needs to be addressed. I used to take this game seriously and tried to avoid ship and SRV destruction as much as possible because I viewed this early release game as NOT being beta or alpha. If you view it as though it is still in beta you should feel less frustrated and even despite a loss, its not so bad because we know with engineers almost everything is bugged. Since engineers I have had to make more bug reports and support tickets due to bugs than ever. I will not do that anymore but I will play the game I paid for.

♥♥♥♥, I'd take the credits. I'm just pissed about all the time I spent scrambling and scrapping my parts and taking stupid missions because I had to sell all my hardpoints trying to escape that starport. Customer support is good about stuff like this?

Yes, the customer service is pretty good. Submit a support ticket and or a bug report so they can look into it. They may compensate you some or all of your insurance credits.

You do know that if you have a bounty in ANY system bounty hunters can come after you right? And also why would you ever afk in elite dangerous. It sounds like you got scanned by a bounty hunter and started to be fired on. In a panic you misclicked and hit a cop and the rest is your rebuy screen. I also started from scratch and i know it sucks. So take a break and come back when your ready to kick ass or trade for hours to get your uninsured t9 back

I would buy this explanation if it weren't for me being assaulted INSIDE the starport and OUTSIDE the starport (a no fire zone, even for pesky bounty hunters)
Keep in mind, I had no debt at the start of this. It didn't just happen one time, everyone misfires once in a while. I never even fired, not once

Join any powerplay?
Was your position of AFK near the station/hub?
Are you hostile to the controlling faction?
Did you have bounty on other system?
Did the faction system u had bounty has connection to your current system?
Doing any mission?
What type of mission?
Hauling any cargo?
Illegal cargo?

Are you sure the people at the station dont hate you? Its possible that the station was taken over by a rival faction that is hostile to you. Or its a bug even though i really really really think its pilot error but hey you never know. Submit a ticket and they will give you your moolah back ive done it a few times for legit bugs on planets.

-Open play
-Pledged once a couple months ago, immediately unpledged when I discovered I could be attacked, unpledged since
-I was not AFK at the station ever, I went from being attacked by system authority at a Nav Beacon, to being immediately attacked exiting a star port
-I had multiple dormant bounties on at least 3 other systems all between 20-30ly away (this disappear and reappear occasionally I have noticed as well) as well as 2 bounties in a system 15ly away
-There were no connections, the system I was in was my FAVORITE system, I basically work out of there and I didn't have a problem before or after
-I had no missions, I just wanted to try out my new vulture bounty hunting at a nav beacon
-No cargo, I don't even have a cargo outfitted.

Are you sure the people at the station dont hate you? Its possible that the station was taken over by a rival faction that is hostile to you. Again, yes I am positive they don't hate me, I do not do many missions, I mostly just preyed on big whale bounties at the local nav beacons and res sites. That's why I know I didn't do something to one of their allies. I was in good standing, I had not lost any rep, and I hadn't even completed a mission that day

If it really was a bug, raise a ticket with FD and ask for a refund. Support are usually very good at giving refunds for people who have suffered loss due to bugs.

But also, take more care. Never AFK (or lose focus) when in a situation where you could be a target. Even when smoking, i don't relax, unless i'm docked somewhere.

You're right, although I set my oculus on my desk and have a mirror running on my desktop monitor on full screen because of this exact reason- I have a perfectly clear view of what's happening in case a big wanted python or anaconda decides to fly by, I wouldn't want to miss it- PLUS i use a thrustmaster, so when my hands aren't on the joystick, my ship isn't moving either
