Ship cargo hold full of reward loot, well thats me done....
As it says,
Imperial Clipper maxed out cargo, full from rewards.
Can't change to my Corvette, as that has no cargo racks and I cant put any on without first getting into that ship.....
Can't buy a Type 9 as that does not have enough cargo space at time of purchase.
Don't want to sell the reward cargo as that to me is an unfair work around.
Can't claim mission rewards due to ..... no cargo space.
So...
Stuck until storage becomes an ingame feature?

Is there another way besides selling the reward cargo?

Sure:
1. Self destruct. That'll clear the cargo bay right up.
2. Jettison it. Bonus points for littering in the mail slot.
3. Use some of it on upgrades, which is presumably why you're collecting it in the first place.
4. Use it to hide behind after you try to explain the logic behind the statement:
Don't want to sell the reward cargo as that to me is an unfair work around.
.... because I'm not sure anyone else could think selling junk is an unfair work around.

I mean, honestly, how is that unfair? Especially when many/most engineer commodities are available for sale by certain stations, so most things you can always just buy on demand. Not everything, but enough not to need to be a hoarder when it comes to commodities.

#1 Nope
#2 Nope same as #1
#3 What upgrades? I want to upgrade my Corvette
#4 = #3
Is it junk? Looks like craftable materials to me.
So by definition, ED only allows upgrades to mission ship?
So by definition " sell all cargo, then run missions in ship not really suitable for carrying cargo and with a poor jump range..

Only run "said amount" of missions, either sell rewards or use on unwanted upgrades
Cool game mechanics.

Afraid you have to dump it. FD have said storage for items are on the cards, but it might take a while.

Therefore this issue needs as much visibility for FD to make sure they understand the scale of the problem. Either ship storage or drop the requirement for cargo bay items for engineers, at least as a stop gap fix.

I recommend you raise this as a ticket with FD as a gameplay bug/issue via their support site, because its stopping you playing to a certain extent - well, not stopping, but you get the idea.

There is another option: rank up, buy a Cutter - it should have more cargo racks than a Clipper, even in a default configuration. It might be even sooner than the stations based storage.

But seriously, I have my FDL parked for the same reasons - it doesn't have cargo racks, so I can't switch to it until I finished upgrading other ships, so I can sell the surplus cargo without a feeling that I'm losing something valuable that is hard to find again.

There is also the controversial "second" account just for storage lol ED is pretty cheap now, so you could do that if you have more than one PC. If money is not an issue.

Either dump it or go for a long vacation till FD introduces storage.

Personally i brought all my cargo with me to Sag A* to farm neutron stars. Don't want to lose the hard earned precious mission centric materials. Slowed down my exploration trip quite a lot since my jump range dropped but i'll get more exploration credits due to passing by more systems anyway. Besides, need them exploration credits to unlock Grade 5 engineers. Spam crafting mods to rep up engineers is just too painful, need shietloads of mats. Hopefully when i'm back in the bubble, storage has been patched in as it logically should.

Oh, that is good to know.
Looks like I am fitting an A rated system scanner then.

log into open with a friend, dump the cargo (abandon) and have them hold it for you while you change ships and outfit it. Then come back, have your friend dump the cargo (again, make sure they abandon it) and take it back.

Nice one thank you.

just a bad game design... its a pain to upgrade ships, not meant to hold cargo
Turd Ferguson 2016 年 6 月 16 日 下午 2:00
I haven't had to do this yet, but I was wondering if you could change ships after accepting a mission.

This is my one quibble with engineers so far. I've managed to work around the limitation imposed by lack of storage, but I wouldn't really call it fun. The ship I'm trying to upgrade is an FdL with only 16 tons of storage, so no matter what ship I'm flying to make my appointed rounds (usually a smuggler Asp or Mining Anaconda), I'm always limited by that 16 tons. Doable...but slightly irritating, too.

Either Fdev should implement some kind of station-side storage for commodities, eliminate them entirely (I don't think this idea is very good; having to find commodities can make things sort of interesting) or allow us to designate which pieces of cargo make the swap to the next ship when we change rides, essentially turning the bigger ships into a "chest." I like this last idea best. I really don't mind searching for rare commodities, I just hate having to constantly throw them away.

I'm convinced Fdev doesn't play their own game

I'm convinced they have cheat codes :)

Yes, you can, if the new ship,s cargo hold can store your current cargo. Be careful, though, don't change to the Lagre ship, if you have an outpost delivery. You will be able to change the ship, but you wouldn't be able to land (happened to me once).
