Doing a quest in horizons to destroy 3 sentry skimmers. There were none there.

I was doing a quest in the hambula system to destroy three skimmers at Mastracchio Beacon. I looked all over. Destroyed most of the defensive turrents and couldn't find any skimmers at the location, and looked all over.

Anyone ever had this happen?

Could be a bug. Exit the area and reenter, see if they spawn.

Thanks for being so quick in your response. I just decided to abandon and move onto my next quest though so we'll never know if they did spawn in. O.o

I did try exiting to main menu and relogging a few times, but that was to try and fix my rover flipping over. They never showed up in local contacts when I checked just before I left the planet. (That was after I relogged a few times.)

They only spawn if you are in an SRV now, only target with SRV it seems as well.
If they dont spawn at 1.5km from base when you in SRV then it is bugged.

Thanks for the info. I usually park about 2-5km from a base as I kind of like driving wide open with the SRV and tumbling around about as much as I like fighting in the thing. XD

So if I get up close and there are no skimmers, do you suggest I drive out a ways out and drive back in range to do a double check or just write the place off and fly off?

ok what u need to do is go near base open fire on turret and the skimmers will come, u may want to install multiple bays for multiple scarabs, if there are only a few or couple skimmers save to menu and start your own private grp, wen u log into either solo play, open play or private all the skimmers will reset the phase, also consider collecting missions from a station in solo, open and private then u can load up on same planet missions!, if u die in a skimmer there is no cost to respawn to ship, your ship will sit in space on respawn,

Go drive/fly around looking for points of interest! That's how you're supposed to do it, it doesn't mean exactly at the base, it just means in the general area. Just look for canister caches and nav beacons and you should get them in no time

wen u respawn in scarab after dieing u will auto log into solo play so be careful of npc ships sent against u! log back into open play when u leave!

you sometimes have to go inside the security perimiter (it'll be a box on your radar) to "activate" them.

Also look for POI's around the target destination, they often have skimmers associated with the faction. Just be sure to check em before you wreck em.

Thanks for continuing to comment even though this was a few months old. I haven't really played since then, but is this still a problem like it was then?
