Rebuy - What does it cover?

Just got killed by a single NPC fighter coming out of a jump. Could barely turn in my heavy freighter and couldn't fight or escape with my FSD and shields disabled. I'm crap at combat but I'm only 2 days old. Anyway..

I had 10mil saved, insurance was a mere few 100k. I just logged back in and I'm missing:-

- All optional internals. Literally all gone. Every slot in the tab says empty.
- All hardpoint weapons.
- All utility point equipment.

My core internal seems unchanged. Is it usual to lose this much? The weapons and utilities aren't a big deal to me, I had 2 little lasers and some chaff, didn't even get to use them. My optional internals though.... I've lost 70+ tons cargo space and I've lost 2x VIP cabins and the highest rated fuel scoop.

If I need to buy stuff back I can. I have the money. I just basically want to know is this usually what happens? I was under the impression you got the ship back as it was provided that you paid for it? Obviously minus *actual* cargo and passengers inside the ship. The optional internals doesn't seem right because just buying the ship brand new provides basic default items in those slots anyway.

When you are on the rebuy screen check the menu on the right, be sure you buy your modules back. You should only lose your cargo.

yeah, you have to make sure all your modules are checked off. When you die...don't click anything but purchase. I made the same mistake as well on a 10mil insurance anaconda

You get everything back, thats why the rebuy cost goes up as you add more expensive pieces to your craft.

Maybe you flew through the rebuy screen too quickly and missed some options?

you don't get it back if you click the wrong button..i found out the hard way as well

Okay seems I missed the boxes then. I'm fine with the consequences if it was my own oversight. Annoying though. Cheers for replies guys.

By default the boxes should all be selected and all you need to click n is rebuy button.

Yeah I'm 99% sure I checked. I know 100% that I didn't uncheck anything. It's why I was quite annoyed because I had the money.. It was peanuts.

Hmm , it might have changed though? Its been a long long time since i seen that screen myself, so i couldnt say for sure .

By default, everything is checked, even your NPC pilot.

So you need to actively uncheck things for them not to be rebought.

Well I definitely didn't uncheck a load of boxes. Bug then. Oh well. I've re-couped. Just done a wing mission for the first time and realised the game is essentially broken... lol. Killed immersion quite a bit if I'm honest.

Because I came in game, winged up with my friend. He has a cargo capacity of 700+ mine is 40. So I didn't even bother helping coz he need 5 trips and whether i helped or not he still needed 5 trips so I basically sat there... Cooked dinner, came back... 30 million. I've logged in sat on my ass and earned 30 million. How is that not broken? It's so exploity it frankly makes me uncomfortable...

ok , you could have delivered 40 5x too and had a hand in it, earn your keep sort of thing. 30 mil isnt a lot really when it cost 1 bill to A" grade a conda or corvette . and it would just give you a boost to get back on track . but the game is all about how you want to play , so if you dont like it that way then i guess your right.

That's no worse than any other imbalanced business partnership.

Most games the vets can hand newer players a pile of credits.

You saying you're 2 days old. Maybe what happened you were in a Sidewinder and on the rebuy screen you clicked the basic Sidewinder.
