So I made 390 million going to Colonia
How can I make more on the way back?

Scan different systems ;-)

Leave Colonia at a random angle facing away from attractions like nebula, travel up or down the galatic plane to keep off the populated routes, then when you are far enough out set your route and plenty of systems should be untouched still. If you just plot a route straight from colonia to your desinatuon then the chances are someone already took a route like that.

If you are in it for the data and discovery though Colonia is just a couple jumps away from pristine space, the density of stars near the center makes discovered systems very rare. Consider exploring around that area for a while or making the trip to Sagittarius A since it's closer to you then the bubble is and it can be scratched off your bucket list. After that? There's beagle point if you feel like going all the way to the other side... Or just beeline back to the bubble.

Good advice, I did something similar going to Colonia, left straight out to the left about 1000lys if looking at the center and then plotted a path up to Colonia. Had to adjust each leg each time to go way up on top of the galactic plane. The plotter always wanted to bring me down into the plane. Many first discoveries per cart page but in total first discoveries only brought in about 18 million out of the 390 million.

I'll check out Sag and around Colonia first before heading back. Any stations out on the other side of the core? Didn't they have some station building events way out past the core?

Also I'm seeing if a road to riches plotter can assist in bringing that total up obviously without the first discoveries. Anyone have a good road to riches plotter? Currently trying ED Pathfinder.

THere is a chain of stations from the bubble to colonia now, dont think they did any further out past (aside from what was there, which I have no idea if there are)

390M seems small. It will take more time but you can conduct surface scans on all Earth like planets, water worlds and terraformable planets for decent credits. I think I made 600M+ last time I did that journey.

As already stated, fly far away from Colonia before heading back. I went South as far as I could this time before heading back and all of these systems are still unclaimed.

Yep, I kinda thought that too, one reason why I made the post. I've been out other directions from the bubble and made more in shorter round trip distances, so maybe I just went through an area not as randomly rich maybe. Plus, I may have been too far from the galactic plane.

I seem to be addicted to exploration at the moment so I will do the same run now with FSS and DSS then check in some time later with the pay-cheque value.

DSS should get you alot more, my 390 million was FSS only. I should have clarified that maybe. I didn't think many people did DSS because of how time consuming it is.

You're right it is relaxingly addicting like Power Wash Simulator and Lawn Mowing Simulator for those times when you're out of gas and can't ride the Harley.

Even if they do, many are only looking for water worlds and earth like worlds, ignoring terraformable high metal content worlds. So sometimes, quite some money can be made in systems that have been visited before. Especially as terraformable systems are often close to the systems entry point (assuming they are circling the A-star).
