How do I retrieve my impounded ship?
I died doing some illegal stuff in Odyssey, and when i respawned my ship was not at the detention center. The text box said" go to a shipyard to pay the impound fee"- so I went and I did not see an option to pay the impound fee. Furthermore, because I at notoriety level 2 I can't use IF to pay my 1,900 credit bounty off, and when I go the the bounty issuing factions I can't pay it off either?

Any suggestions?

I've found the issue.

Since I was on foot when I died- I respawned in the on foot concourse of the detention center. However, the fine needed to be paid in a ship- so while my ship was impounded I couldn't access it.

This caused me to not be able to transfer my ship/pay the impound fee. However, you have to go back to the prison ship in your own ship, and then you can pay the fine from the shipyard menu (present on the prison ship). As far as I can tell, you cannot pay the fine from the on foot concourse.

There is a small screen near the elevator where you can access the prison vessels shipyard including being able to pay off the impound fee, btw the impound fee is the same as the replacement cost which is just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid

Maybe your notoriety prevents you from paying the impound fee and retrieving it? Can you play for 4 hours without that ship, until your notoriety drops to 0?

do not get caught when you do illegal stuff. I try to avoid illegal stuff as it rarely is needed. Most of things you can get from anarchy systems where you can do what ever you want and no once cares, they do shoot back but if you die they forgive your sins.

i think you have to wait that your notoriety wears off then you can maybe solve some of your problems.

If that is the case, that seems like a really stupid system. Hey.. play 4 hours so you can get your ship back..! However, yes I can: I am just trying to see if I am doing something wrong or if its bugged(not the flying kind...).

It might be the notoriety, I have a lot of thoughts about the crime and punishment system, but that is another topic for discussion. I've not really been able to find anarchy systems these days, and the last time I did- I still received notoriety for killing people..

It's hard to know because this mechanic has been just introduced in the last Update. You might be the one who will get the answer for others. :)

So the settlements have to be an anarchy faction in an anarchy system to not take a notoriety hit, otherwise I take a notoriety hit?

Yeah, because it gives me the option to transfer but the it never shows as in transit. I am assuming the prison ship is still holding onto my ship, but I get no message saying" can't transfer ship- please pay the impound fee".

at least that works for me, could be some other possibilities too but i have not tried everything.
You can use map filters to show all anarchy systems then select some populated system and check it out if there is any nice settlements to pillage.

AFAIK, in Star Citizen they lock you you up in prison for certain amount of IRL time and you can't play at all, unless you manage to escape.

I did not know that, that does also not sound very fun.. Well having to wait doesn't , but the prison escape sounds fun.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
