We need a ECM hotkey. (SOLVED)

We are missing a hotkey for ECM. FOrcing me to press n and then press a mouse button for ECM. PLease hotfix this in. Not all ships have any good placements for point defences.

(THis is solved. Mods can delete when ready.)

I refuse to use Ecm if its not a toggle fucntion like in real aircrafts like F16, where you just turn it on and it stays on until you turn it off,

have voice attack program, program it to use ECM hotkey when you say ECM. I have it. i say docking and it requests dock. fight to pips to engines and weapons etc. Offically it costs money to have voice attacl.

There is no hotkey for ecm.. thats the issue man...

right mouse button down and hold for 3 seconds? as a macro in voice attack. guess that is not a hotkey but a mouse button. but it does that for u.

Or....OR....They could just add a hotkey. Much easier. Dosen't require any programs. Seriously, this is VERY basic stuff. THey forgot to put it in!

This has already been addressed in the 2.2 beta, and has been added there. Give it a week or two to make it to the live game.

they forgot to put it in? or they want it to be more difficult to use? cos ECM destroys all missles, while point defense shoots at one missile at a time which requires line of sight, so it cant shoot missiles if ur own ship is blocking the view.

No. Apparently its aleady in the next patch beta. Why they aren't just quickly adding it in I don't know but meh. Also pressing N and clicking the mouse button takes no time at all.

Thats not a hotkey, a hotkey is a key on youre keyboard that activates a function without the need for a firegroup like it is for chaff and shield cellbanks and heatsinks! dont insult our intelligence with bs like that!

do you still have to deploy hardpoints for ECM to work or did they do away with that and ECM should be a toggle that starts to drain your system charge while on. and if we got ECM we should have ECCM for missiles.

I thought if you had an ecm module it was just on. What do you need to do to activate it then?

Would be OP. You would be immune to missles. THe current system is fine. YEah its not the most realistic ECM but maybe missle guiding has gotten highly advanced so ECMs have changed.
