Cobra MK 3 vs Diamondback Scout
just a quick question regarding their agility... is the DBS alot more meneuverable?!
Or are they relatively close?!

Check out the ship builder: https://coriolis.io/

Cobra is given a score of 6/10 for mauevuerbility, DBS 8/10.

You'd need someone who's owned both to give you a good comparison.

In terms of taking them on as NPC's in a Python, Cobra's tend to be less manouverable than DBS, I've had more than my fair share of DBS's, managing to stay in my blind spots better and high waking away when they get damaged enough.

That's comparing similiar ranked NPC's, but not the modules they are carrying.

Edit: I'm sure there will be a fair amount of video reviews for both on youtube.

The DBS is more combat focused than the Cobra III. So yes. It feels much more maneuverable and has also lower inertia (accelerates better / is more responsive)

Cobra is slightly faster, DBS is noticeably more agile. If you want a fighter the DBS is the better choice. If you want a multiroll/trader/explorer then go for the Cobra.

thinking about a fun low tier pvp ship...

You can't really use those manouverability values to get a true idea of how agile ships are. Some ships have better thrusters for yaw than others, some have excellent main thrust but weak pitch thrusts, some ships slide, some ships pivot depending on where their manouvering thrusters are located.

Each ship has its own unique characteristics, and so, two ships with the same manouverability rating can handle quite differently.

The only real way to understand how manouverable ships are and how they handle is to fly them yourself.

I'll just throw out a random example. The Type 7 has a low rating (2), sane as the gunship (2). But the Type 7 has the best yaw in the game (yup, seriously, its yaw is far better than any other ship), but its pitch is worse than that on the the gunship.

well the Cobra has definately better internals to build a hull tank... DBS has 4 utilities... I think I will just ahve to give both a spin later today to see which one seems more fun to me... a lot will have to do with which cockpit I like more in VR though ;) I used to have a stealth DBS way back when I didnt have a VR headset.. quite excited to try both out again...

yeah had thought about it... got the imperial Eagle but the cockpit isnt something I drool about and I expect the Courier to have a similar boaring cockpit, besides I would have to get the rank to fly it which is why I am a bit shying away from it...

How fast is the Courier fully combat fitted vs the DBS and Cobra?

Have not been in it since I did the Hi Perf. thrusters, but it does move.
Give it a try along with the others if you can. :)
I will be trying it later to help clean up Founders. ;)

Stealth DBS rocks for pvp! xD

I've recently been contemplating stealthing my Vulture.

hm according to the tool the courier with enhanced performance thrusters is still slower than both Cobra and DBS... so thats a nogo for me...
